Quuador's Collection - Spare book closet put to good use

Next we have the final language for the ‘Pikachu around the World’ parts. I will add the same quote again, which I’ll do for all parts:

The first thirteen parts were Chinese (click here to go to that part); Dutch (click here to go to that part); English (click here to go to that part); French (click here to go to that part); German (click here to go to that part); Indonesian (click here to go to that part); Italian (click here to go to that part); Japanese (click here to go to that part); Korean (click here to go to that part); Polish (click here to go to that part); Portuguese (click here to go to that part); Russian (click here to go to that part); and Spanish (click here to go to that part).

The Thai portion of my Pikachu collection is complete. And considering it’s one of the newer languages and there are only 31 Thai Pikachu cards (up to February 27th, 2021), it’s not too surprising.

Thai:

Let me start with a picture of all Thai Pikachu cards in my collection:

Just like Indonesian, all Thai cards are printed in Japan before they were distributed to Tailand. So the cards will have similar silver borders, and lack any Reverse Holos.

Also just like Indonesian, the first Thai sets were First Impact sets A and B, with accompanying First Impact Random GX Starter Deck. These Thai sets were released on February 1st, 2019, although two weeks prior on January 19th, 2019 there were prerelease First Impact Challenge events in Bangkok. Set A contains two non-Holo Pikachu cards with numbers 100/150 and 101/150; set B also contains two more Pikachu cards with numbers 001/150 and 002/150; and the Random Deck contains an additional Pikachu with number 038/140.

Next on May 1st, 2019 we had the prerelease events for the second Legends Awakened set. Anyone who purchased a Legends Awakened booster box during this launch event received a non-Holo 004/SM-P Pikachu promo, which has an artwork that’s exclusively released in Korean, Thai, and Indonesian, and never made it to English, Japanese, or any of the other languages.

Then between May 2nd and 8th, 2019, people could preorder tickets at Major Cineplex theaters for the Detective Pikachu movie, which could be seen in Thailand from May 9th, 2019 onward. Anyone who preordered a Detective Pikachu cinema ticket this way, would receive the holofoil 009/SM-P Detective Pikachu promo with their ticket(s).

Next on May 9th, 2019 we had the Thai Legends Awakened sets A and B. This time the Decks weren’t random from a pool of cards like with the First Impact Deck or all Indonesian Decks, but instead just regular fixed GX Starter Decks, focusing Lycanroc for the set A deck and Mewtwo for the set B deck. The Thai Legends Awakened set A contained two non-Holo Pikachu cards with number 047/171 and 048/171. Set B and the Starter Decks lacked any Pikachu cards.

After that was the third Thai set on August 11th, 2019, which were the Hidden Shadow sets A and B, again with two GX Starter Decks: Salamence and Dialga. The Thai Hidden Shadow set A contained a non-Holo Pikachu with number 002/183. Set B and the Start Decks lacked any Pikachu cards.

Then between October 2nd and 11th, 2019 (and again between November 30th and December 15th, 2019), there were Naiin shop Pokémon purchase campaigns. Customers who bought for at least 200 baht (~6 USD) on Pokémon TCG products at Naiin shops would receive a free non-Holo 050/SM-P Pikachu promo.

Next on November 22nd, 2019 we had the Thai Sky Ruler sets A and B, this time with Random GX Starter Deck again. Set A contained a non-Holo Pikachu with number 041/178. Set B and the Random GX Starter Deck didn’t contained any Pikachu cards.

Next we have the Thai Double Burst sets A and B, with Random GX Starter Deck, released on February 27th, 2020. This set was packed with Pikachu cards, since set A contained six Pikachu cards (a Full Art Ultra Rare Pikachu & Zekrom GX with number 066/184; two non-Holo Commons with numbers 068/184 and 069/184; two FA Secret Rare Pikachu & Zekrom GX with numbers 193/184 and 194/184; and the Hyper Secret Rare with number 216/184), and the Deck contained an additional two non-Holo Pikachu cards with numbers 043/169 and 044/169.

Then on May 25th, 2019 we have the Thai Legendary Clash sets A and B, with Random GX Starter Deck. Set B of these sixth Thai sets contained a non-Holo Pikachu with number 069/194 as well as a Full Art Character Secret Rare with number 198/194. Set A nor the Random Deck contained any Pikachu cards.

Next we’re at the Sword & Shield era, starting with the Thai sets A and B by the same name, also with Random V Starter Decks, on September 8th, 2019. Both the sets and Deck were without any Pikachu cards.

Also starting from September 8th, 2020 (continuing to roughly the end of the year), we had the Gym Battle and Novice Challenge events. Gym Battles are weekly tournaments in Thailand, taking place every Saturday. For the Gym Battles, participants would receive one of twelve cards: 001/S-P Grookey; 002/S-P Rillaboom V; 003/S-P Scorbunny; 004/S-P Cinderace; 005/S-P Cinderace V; 006/S-P Sobble; 007/S-P Inteleon V; 008/S-P Pikachu; 009/S-P Morpeko; 010/S-P Coalossal; 011/S-P Galarian Perrserker; or 012/S-P Cinccino. And for the Novice Challenge, participants would receive one of three cards: 013/S-P Pikachu; 014/S-P Morpeko; or 015/S-P Eevee.

Next on January 29th, 2021 we had the Thai Shiny VMAX Collection sets A and B, with Random V Starter Deck. Just like the Double Burst set, this set contained quite a few Pikachu cards. Set A contained two Full Art Ultra Rare Pikachu V cards with numbers 057/159 and 058/159; a FA Ultra Rare Pikachu Vmax with number 059/159; a FA Secret Rare Pikachu V with number 165/159; and a FA Hyper Secret Rare Pikachu Vmax with number 249/159, Set B had no Pikachu cards, and the Random Deck contained an additional non-Holo Full Art Ultra Rare Pikachu V with number 029/135.

After that the Thai sets and decks started to follow suit with the Japanese, Korean, and Chinese sets, with the Thai Single Strike Master and Rapid Strike Master sets release on March 26th, 2021, just outside of my collection goal which stops for non-English releases at February 27th, 2021 (25th Pokémon Day) - although this set lacked any Pikachu cards anyway.

And there you have it. All Thai Pikachu cards and set/Deck releases up to February 27th, 2021, the final language for my ‘Pikachu around the World’ series. So the next part will be all unofficial released cards across all languages, which will include Sample/Test prints; unofficial stamped promos; repeating misprints; etc. But more on that later.

Greetz,
Quuador
