Did you buy this through an eBay auction for 1600 USD? I’ve been thinking about buying a Shadowless Charizard as well and I’ve bid on a CGC-7.5 recently.

Yes that was me! I figured I could get a better deal on a CGC NM than a PSA NM. Looks great in the case. I’d recommend it. I’ve never been the biggest Zard fan, but I cannot express how great it feels to own this card.

Thought so. And yeah, I’ve never been the biggest Zard fan either, but I always liked the look of the Shadowless/1st edition Base Set Charizard. I’m not really willing to spend 1.5k+ for it, even though that’s a great price for a CGC-7.5 graded one imo. I’m currently just keeping an eye on eBay for one with a clean holofoil without too many scratches. I personally don’t care about the back, whitening, silvering, or minor creases tbh, but I do want to look at the artwork without seeing too many scratches.
Yours is definitely a nice copy, and it looks great in the case.

Most of the damage is the back bottom edge with whitening and a subtle corner impression, but the front and holo is surprisingly clean, with no scratching that I can see. I think it would cross to a PSA 7 vs. 8, but I’m happy with it. I understand the not wanting to spend too much. I missed the boat when PSA 8s were 600$, and who knows what the LP numerous box openings will do to the prices, so I decided to cave and get one and never look back. Good luck! Today I added more sealed stickers to my non-TCG Pichu collection.
The Pokémon Center Online set is from March 2001 and the other three are from some time around August 2001.
I’ve not seen these ones before - does anyone know if there’s a set with Charmander in as well?

I been keeping an eye on the sealed ones too. Going to grade in the sealed pack or open and grade buddy?
Planning on grading it. This is my favorite one of the set and it would be pretty cool to grade a 10 myself.

Can anyone confirm how the sealed ones were released? I only remember the bricks of Psyduck Eevee and Rowlett. I never saw sealed copies

Dude this is a great buy. The DPPt-era holos are awesome. I bet more people get into those in the near future. IMO Gen IV is the last iconic batch of Pokémon/cards.
