Never seen this card. Whats the backstory?
Oh I have no idea lol
The seller of the error Mew graded that card themselves. They had no idea what it would go for. They contacted me on Instagram and advertised it with Pallettown marketplace, definitely did some good for the sale. I was blown away, hope it gets paid for.
The PSA 10 pop is quite high for the Shining Mew, I’m betting there are actually a handful of 10s that are the “error” variant that are not labeled as such, just because PSA recently recognized this error and started labeling the variant. I’m betting a lot of them get sent into PSA to be recased and labeled accordingly now.
Oh I’m sure. I wouldn’t want it because the sparkles give it the extra pop.
No worries lol. Thanks for posting now I at least know of it.
I think I’ve seen a few mislabeled before, so let’s hope that it is indeed the error variant without the rainbow shimmer. It would be awful if the buyer pays $20K for a normal version of the card.
@kpod is probably right. There are bound to be some 10s without the variant label.
The seller also sent me a video of the raw card before he graded it so I can attest to it being the error variant.
Is it possible if you send the video here so we can all have a look at the error variant?
That looks amazing, much better than the normal version imo!
But the sparkles man, the SPARKLES!
I can’t tell the difference if I’m being honest. Maybe I’m not seeing it?
I didn’t expect the card to be so glossy!
Okay I see it there
Yeah it’s like it just didn’t get the top holo layer applied. Still a cool card
That’s pretty cool but it looks like a different card. No ball holo pattern next to Mew’s foot and the centering is off on this one
All I have to go off of is the seller showing me the card before he graded it. I can only take his word for it
Basically, the main version of this card has a cosmos & star holo pattern on the art, with an all-over glitter layer on the rest of the card.
Here’s a cool photo of a cut off glitter layer so you can see it better illustrated:
I recently made an IG post about it but honestly I’m unsure how many variants there actually are. It seems there may be 3:
Most of the info I know about it comes from various sources online, but @Quuador @layalouhamesh and @serpintaxt posted some good info in this thread
