THE Great Grading Results Thread

congratz lol, how many did you send in?

3 cards, and this was the one I least expected to label lol.

Sometimes you have to lean into the meme

Fresh grades, not reholders.

Sheesh killer grades. Looks good in the black too. Were these cracked from psa or elsewhere or raw?

Good question. I have many 8s -9s of these cards. I cracked the ones I thought were graded too strictly. Everything in the image went up 1 full grade except for the Quappo, which remained a 9.

I should also clarify that I only cracked cards with thin, light print lines. Anything with post-production damage wasn’t cracked and resubmitted.

What an insane first submission! Big congratulations

Was about to list one of my cards from my recent submission before it arrives (coming later today hopefully…) and realised the card is super wonky in the psa case. Scans look bad and the card is either being damaged or very loose. Neither of which is a nice outcome and is seriously unprofessional. I’ve said it a thousand times before, but for a company whose sole purpose is to maintain the condition of your card they do a bloody poor job of it.

Give it a good smack and you’ll be good

Don’t worry too much, PSA’s case is slightly too large for Japanese cards, especially for older cards it seems. My Ho-Oh was also slightly wonky but is completely fine it’s just very small so moves easily.

Pretty pleased with this return, got 11/15 correct from my pregrades (2 +1 off, 2 -1 off).

This card is a silver lining ending to a story I always kick myself about. In summer 2016, before I got back into Pokémon cards, I travelled to Japan. I still had a soft spot for Pokémon and as a big part of Japanese culture and I still wanted to visit a Pokémon Center.

By pure coincidence, I visited the Tokyo Skytree location on opening week. There were thousands of Poncho Pikachu Rayquaza boxes on the shelves, I was going back and forth between picking one up as a souvenir, but ultimately decided it was too big to take back with me as I was backpacking…

Instead, I picked up 5 booster packs which allowed me to be given this card as a promo. It survived coming back across the world with me, unsleeved in a backpack! When I got back into cards later that year, sat in the back of a binder.

Surprised and thrilled to see it pull a 10, this card means a lot to me

ZERO 10’s BUT ULTRA HAPPY !
This is probably one of the hardest sets to get 10’s for Pokemon. 9’s are just fine (as many cards do NOT have 10’s)

Sorry for the images, c/p doesn’t seem to work well. Honestly, I thought most would be 9/10s, so very surprised with the results. 3 cards came back <6 with damage I don’t remember seeing when I sent them off. Oh well I guess! Pretty upset with the Natta Wakes since they were easily 9s at least and I’ve held onto them for a while before sending. Quite a few 9s on modern JP that I pulled myself with perfect centering and no whitening. Maybe the PSA guy was having a bad day lol.

Still, some great results within!

@jeverstones: Are you going to sell these?

My BGS submissions thru PWCC. BGS is just taking too long sending direct. So been sending subs thru PWCC which takes about 6 weeks

I am having my concerns about cards being handled or switched(not on purpose, but possibly with other subs, just need to take better scans to verify) There is no serial numbering with pokemon cards so the holo fingerprint is important, (my serial numbered sports cards are easy to track)

Grading is strict right now in my opinion , all grades are about .5 lower than i was WISHING FOR. Personal direct BGS subs are the worse.

Not looking to sell at the moment, sorry.

Wait til everyone sees that getting a cgc gem mint 10 is easier than getting the previous cgc gem mint 9.5.

Irrefutable evidence that psa dominates cgc.

Interestingly enough bgs still comes in 3rd lol.
