I just checked all of the Pokedex entries for Sharpedo for a reference to there being no tail. There isn’t one but but there is this from Sapphire which I suppose explains the design
SHARPEDO can swim at speeds of up to 75 mph by jetting seawater out of its backside
So I guess it is like a literal torpedo/rocket, then.
I always think of Sharpedo as a cross between Shark and he Mola Mola (Ocean Sunfish). Mola Mola have a very squared back end with just a bit of tail and those two sharp fins.
I don’t remember seeing these cards or this artist before but I love the aggressive Shellder and ESPECIALLY the Aerodactyl crouching atop the building like a gargoyle. Something effective about having a prehistoric Pokemon in the city that really works.
Kawayoo has some significantly more popular art but I felt like these ones in particular were underrated and deserved some love.
You’re in for a treat, Kawayoo’s style is very distinctive and is amazing at portraying pokemon in battles, with serious expressions. His HGSS art is probably the best. Great artist to collect, highly recommend. Here’s most of his cards.
These must be from an era where I wasn’t collecting. I vaguely recognise the Dragonite but that’s it. The Dragon energy type is a dead giveaway as I definitely wasn’t collecting what that was a thing.
