Ooh, I never saw that card as a kid but I really like it. Reminds me of Donato Giancola’s Feroz’s Ban for MTG (I would post an image but I feel it would be against the spirit of a Pokemon art thread. It is here: scryfall.com/card/7ed/295/ferozs-ban))
I’m taking a huge risk here by promoting items I want to acquire in the future but haven’t yet. Please be considerate and don’t buy all of them from ebay, thanks ![]()

Seriously though, how could one not love them? If these don’t give you a nostalgia kick, I don’t know what will.
Are there ones for Giovanni and Koga too? Or just these 6?
Also I’m buying all of them to flip to you, sorry
@miraclegro Giovanni and Koga didn’t get a Japanese Gym Deck AFAIK. Also, screw you ![]()
I love these too. I just wish the boxes were a little bigger, like English theme decks.

I really like the little dark expression and the dynamic of the shadow and the shadow’s grin.
Some of the other Miki Tanaka art I love:

Quagsire is one of my least favourite Pokemon, but this is just it. It makes me think so much of Venice and films that take place there, as well as the fifth Pokemon movie. I think Pokemon drawn in urban environments are usually good efforts.

I also really enjoy this Steelix. Looks like one of those random posters outside of the subway station inviting you to the concert of a local newly emerging metal band.

Slowpoke / slowbro / slowking — the most amazing pokemon. But their artworks are beautiful, some of sugimori’s best.

I’m too lazy to double check, but I seem to remember a number of Aquapolis cards (rares in particular) having the Venice/canal theme. Hence the name of the set, maybe! (Not being a smartass, this is the first time it’s occurred to me haha.)
No they do! There are also some which remind me of those steps in Santorini (e.g. Espeon, Arcanine, Growlithe). I think the vibe in general they were going for was Atlantis. Such an awesome set.

Arita can do no wrong!

Excited for this card. Pokemon center promos are killing it:

I was looking through some of my binder collection the other day, and had an idea for a nice casual thread: A giant thread dedicated to artwork.
I loved browsing the 2017 favorite card thread, and figured this would encourage participation for any collector, brand new or veteran. Any type of art can be shared in this thread: a rare card, common card, post card, poster, anything; its all about appreciating that artwork!
Anyone who is new to the forum or hobby don’t feel shy, there are no wrong answers here! I still discover new artwork all the time.
Also this thread has no expiration and can be updated whenever! To get things started, here are the 2 cards that made me think of this idea:
I love the Sowsow cards. This is every artwork but a couple are Japanese and one is a reverse holo so it’s not quite a ‘set’ yet…x

Had never seen that Team Up Marowak before. Really awesome art
