I think I’ve seen it around maybe once before, but I’m not 100% sure. What I am sure is this: the building in the background is the Tamamushi University (or Celadon City University in English) as seen here:
The Magikarp is also in its signature Tamamushi University Prize card pose as seen here:
It’s probably just an early design of what would eventually become the Prize card we all know and love.

I’m not a fan of the entirety of x and y but this card is one of my favorite full art trainers. I love the colors!

Much like how I love to see other peoples’ Pokemon card collections and see what pieces they put together, I love seeing what Pokemon people put on their Pokemon teams in the games. I think that you can tell a lot about someone style/personality by their team composition. That is why Challenge! Is one of my favorite card artworks. I like to imagine that these Pokemon all belong to a high ranking Team Rocket Officer… however that is probably not the case since if they all belonged to one member they would probably be the strongest in the organization 
. I love how all the Pokemon look mean, ready to kick some butt and ready to help steal some Pokemon. You just don’t really see a mean expression coming from Pokemon as often as you see them look normal/nice.

I can’t believe it’s been a year already, kids sure grow up fast. Without further ado, here is the second installment:
This was some of the worst paper I ever had to work with, it was very coarse and it soaked up the color markers way more than I would have liked, but what’s done is done. Note to self: avoid recycled paper for birthday cards. I’m still pleased with the end result, though!
