it’s the poke hybrid of cat bus and the regalia from final fantasy 15
Terstallized Pokemon look shiny and blocky.
Aky CG Works: my body is ready - let me illustrate ALL OF THESE CARDS.
Do they even sell physical games anymore? Perhaps they need to save storage space, so they’re reducing the polygon count…?
I really liked this screncap and hope there is more atmosphere like this, it looks like something a little different for a Pokemon game.
The climbing aspect is really cool, Pokemon has never felt like it had any real sense of vertical scale and i think that will benefit the world building.
Both the legendaries are just off. The idea of an all terrain companion is interesting but the execution is off. I think both these Pokemon will have some great arts in the TCG, when they’re stylized and drawn in their correct stance I have high hopes. But the default, permanently-inflated-giant-wheels-stuck-on-chest-and-butt-while-waddling stance that you are subjected to for what looks like the entirety of the game if you choose Scarlett is just so, so awful.
Pretty into lechonk ngl
LeChonk is the true scarlet & violet legendary Pokémon!
This does look really good as a piece of concept art.
My biggest worry is that it looks very….bare. I loved PLA, but it was really bare in the world. That’s one of the things I remember it got hammered for in its reviews. Hope they fill the world out a bit this time round to bring it to life.
I am hesitant about these legendaries. Something that I liked about the Sun & Moon seasons is that modern technology was incorporated into the Pokemon universe, with Pokemon interacting directly with the advanced technology. I never thought that Pokemon would become some sort of technology hybrid… This reminds me of ultra beasts, which were purposely made to look odd and off-putting.
The new legendaries seem to be getting some flak for their designs but I think they are just as cool as any of the past 4 generations. The motorcycle motif works as a gameplay mechanic and still fits into the design in my opinion. The “wheels” on Koraidon are obviously designed after certain species of male lizards that have throat flaps or dewlaps.

A little tidbit from the latest trailer (only the Japanese one): If you pre-order a physical copy of the new Pokemon games, you will receive a Pokemon card that has not been revealed yet as bonus. You also get some in-game items for pre-ordering the digital version and 100 Pokeballs for buying the double pack.
I know this is a joke, but I actually love the idea of an alt art with a trainer riding one of the new legendary pokemon crossing the finish line of a race
I was just watching a video on how in Gen 3, They decided to push the envelope on what a pokemon could look like (for practical and also thematic purposes). So, over the years, PkMn have slowly become less natural and creature-like. Though, I have been reminded a recently, Blastoise had cannons, actual freakin’ steel cannons on it’s back.
Over the years this is the reason I like Blastoise less than I used to. He’s the least-natural of the 3 starter evos, but what’s particularly disappointing is that the other 2 are dual-type but he isn’t steel-type for some crazy reason, considering those are literal cannons. Makes no sense. If he was steel-type I could jive with his design a lot more.
I still like him more than Venusaur though.
Memes aside, I think these new games look great. I hope they incorporate things like the PLA catch mechanics, but the full open world is fantastic. I also love that you can explore at your own pace and challenge the gyms in whatever order you want. The two additional “adventures” mentioned in the trailer also sound cool, and I’m hoping this means there’s more content to the game than the admittedly very played-out gym grind.
I’m tired of the battle gimmicks though, I don’t know why every gen needs some strange new mechanic that isn’t very good when they already have several gimmicks that are actually competitively balanced and exciting. Just bring back Mega Evolution and throw in 10 new Megas. I don’t know what it is, but Dynamax and this new Crystal mechanic just don’t seem like classic Pokemon to me.
The traveling legendaries actually seem exciting to me, I hope this means that the open world is relatively large! Not sure if anyone has pointed this out, but we should have seen this coming: Koraidon and Miraidon, = ride on, eh?
As long as you like him more than Venusaur!
But actually the duel steel type makes a lot of sense! Then again, it might make him vulnerable to charizard.
I am really excited for the open world aspect. I loved how Legends Arceus did it where certain areas become unlocked as you progress the story, meaning you can revisit old areas and find new things.
