I love that is heavily based in Spain and the Spanish culture, but these legendary Pokemons as motorbikes or whatever that is I don’t like it at all personally, that is not pokemon for me is just some weird stuff. Maybe I’m getting old, but would love just a game like this with the classic Pokémon design and not futuristic stuff like that

The open world gameplay looks great! Also like the crystal pokemon. But I agree with others, the legendary Pokémon are meh.

yea, i really hate to be that guy, but i just dont really feel in love with the direction of the game. i know pokemon has never been state of the art in terms of graphics, but it looks really unpolished to me. it’s tough seeing botw and odyssey be as great as they are and then watch my fav series struggle and fail time and time again to reach those kinda heights. not only that, but it feels like they’re going backwards most of the time; it doesn’t make sense to me that the original DS games feel more polished, have more content, etc. i really wanna be excited for new pokemon, but even keeping my expectations low, i STILL find myself feeling disappointed

I’m really looking forward to playing this to be honest. Think it’s going to be a refreshing mix of SwSh and PLA which both had their moments.
BUT, I really wish they could just release a brand new pixel style game every other year to scratch that itch too. I’m talking something with the graphics and mechanics of Soul Silver/Black but with new Pokémon and a new area to explore. There’s only so many times you can replay the old classics before craving something new. Would be so easier to make and much better than the rehashing they keep doing to old titles.

Mega Evolutions, Z-Moves, Dynamax, Crystal Dynamax (w/e this new thing is) - all the “flash in the pan” mechanics are a little tiresome. Do people feel like these things offer something fresh?

Agree that pixel art style is peak. It’s not pokemon but it’s basically a clone - I’ve been playing Coromon (Coromon for Nintendo Switch - Nintendo Official Site) on switch and it’s relatively decent.

not to mention, they’re kind of all just the same mechanic with different aesthetics-- ‘pokemon gets stronger’ but now it’s big! now it has a different move! now it can digivolve! now it is crystal!

After re-watching the trailer, I can see the appeal of the legendary pokemon being all terrain. Since its a more open world game, having a pokemon that can fly, swim and ride on land is useful.

They have all had a profound impact on their respective generations competitive play. You could argue for better or worse but they definitely keep things interesting for me.

I think since TPCi’s primary focus will always be getting the 6-8 age range hooked on the new games, the switch to an open-world RPG is actually an incredibly huge step. These are main series titles shifting the entire franchise we knew as kids down a different path, and I commend TPCi for finally stepping out of their comfort zone. Whether or not it pays off has yet to be seen, but I think it should be noted that this could potentially alienate a chunk of the “target” audience depending on how difficult these games are (no Pokemon games are hard, but you get what I’m saying.) It’s a bigger risk than TPCi usually takes, and I would assume Legends: Arceus’ success was a big factor in this transition
