One of my favorites out of the first Scarlet Violet set, definitely a personal chase card!
Wow absolutely insane. I know it’s a replica of the card but just the amount of foliage that needs to be done is so much. The details and shadows on every leaf is so well done. It looks stunning as a pen drawing and can be framed as wall art. How long did this one take? Thanks for sharing.
Cheers!
Will you ever consider offering prints (even if it’s just limited in number) or selling the original? This one has to be my favorite by far, it’s great.
@alyo is one of the most talented Pokemon art recreationists that I’ve seen. What an incredible skill to have.
I already gushed about the Dondozo piece, but the detail here is incredible too. I think I like @alyo 's version more than the original If I can tag on another question: how big is this piece?
WOW thanks for the support all! ;w; I’m glad others enjoy it!
@amwolf
I do love making stuff others can enjoy as art, especially of course TCG fans, and do hope to consistently have prints or something available – right now I do have some things on ebay but also etsy at allyballybally - Etsy Canada and trying that out.
@bbobrob
Thanks so much! Here’s pics of the original size
@mrbubbles Thank you!! This one and others usually do take a few days if working on it a lot. But thanks again!
@Dyl You’re so kind! Thank you so much!
Ah, okay, that size makes sense. Wasn’t sure if you were just squinting really hard on a postcard or something But the bigger it is means a lot more space to cover!
Great work on the rest of the pieces up on Etsy too. The Giratina alt art piece looks especially ambitious!
Thanks for sharing and I wish you the best of luck with the Etsy/Ebay endeavors!
Incredible!
True! And thanks! I can’t wait to see what microcrochet project you finish next, that stuff is incredible!
Very cute! That Charmander brandishing his tail like a weapon is hilarious Uses Ember by just flailing his tail around.
I think I have some Pokemon drawings I did as a kid too–going to have to see if I can find them sometime at my parents’ house!
Sick!!! If triple does piss you off, I call dibs
@amwolf All aboard! I don’t know why, but the negative space for the white lines looks really neat.
@mrtz Looks good! One can never have enough Mudkipz!
I can just produce a copy for you if you’d like
@bbobrob for the black sections of Cynthia’s clothings it was the only option, but with garchomp, the lighting of my room made the blue and black look similar so once I finished it and actually let the ink dry… I realized I did not have to do such a tedious task lol
Oh, right, for the black clothes, I guess it had to be done that way. For Garchomp though, I would’ve thought you’d start with the outline of everything (in black) and then color in, so it’s interesting to hear that that was not the order of things (for the record, I don’t really draw). I really like the effect though!
It really depends on how you do it and the medium/media. I did a lot of personal art with watercolors in the past and I was taught you must always start with the lightest colors and work your way up to darker colors, in contrast with oil painting which teaches you to start with the darker colors and work up to lighter. With watercolors, lining first and then coloring works out well enough since the lines will almost always be clear (hell, light pencil marks will be mega clear if painted over) and you can tidy up at the end. With the pens/markers I was using, they pretty much cover each other so if I lined first my lines would have been obliterated most likely, it was easier for me to block in the colors and then line it at the end or as I go. I also wasn’t sure if black would show up on the blue so I saved my future self a headache and just did the white lines and when I looked later, I realized I gave myself a headache for no reason.
Ah, thanks for walking me through that. Again, I have no clue about anything drawing/painting/coloring, but it is something I’m hoping to at least try out or dabble in in the future, so this was useful
Those are so adorable! That’s awesome she kept them! What a cute thing to look back on
