Hey y’all its been a little bit. Anyone have any collection goals you want to share? I love hearing people’s collecting progress. I’m currently working on finishing a Wotc set all in PSA 9s for the holo’s. (I’ll reveal which set once completed.) This will be my first PSA 9 complete holo set. I happened to pick a huge set. (Hint hint)

I have a few collection Goals and sub goals for myself.
Collect 1 of every Nidoking card printed is my main goal.
However right now I am working on getting a copy of the XY evolutions holo nidoking in each languge it was printed. I have got a copy of one from each set released (english, korean, japanese) but am still chasing the foreign language alternates of the english set.
I also am assembling a team of my personal favourite 6 pokemons that I hope to match my nidoking collection eventually(currently working on Vileplume and Exeggutor).

I am looking to grab every vending card eventually, along with the neo intro deck exclusives that aren’t found anywhere else (non-crossovers), bulbasaur/squirtle starter deck exlusives, and the red green gift set exclusives! After that I think I can die happy. Until I get another itch that is…

Still looking to grab a theme deck case from gym heroes as well as a few smaller things like the long stem packs from the set. Aside from that I´d like to add some PSA 10 shadowless holos to my collection to warrant my name haha

@macroplays Nidoking is a really cool Pokemon. Now that I think of it not many people talk about Nidoking. My favorite is Crystal Nidoking from Aquapolis. What’s your favorite Nidoking card?
@brendantheclayboy Vending series are very cool from what I’ve seen. I don’t know much about those cards. Neo intro deck exclusives sound very interesting. Definitely share some pictures once you do!
@shadowless Shadowless 10s sound expensive but now might be the perfect time to get them. I like going for modest 9s myself. I’d do 7s or 8s but it’s a little risky with grades lower then 9s for quality. I’m definitely not into scratched up cards. I don’t even like obvious print lines lol. Most of my 9s have one spot of whitening on a corner which gave them the grade. I definitely respect going for 10s tho.

New collection goal I’ve started is collecting all the English ex cards from the EX series in PSA 8-10. As a kid I dreamt of owning all the ex cards so it would be pretty cool if I can get it done.

@cuppy I actually have a collection of every ex except Steelix, team rocket returns and a few others! I definitely love ex’s from ex era! I have a video of them if you ever want to check them out in my collection thread. 
All in the 6-9 grade category but they are all happily ungraded in my binders.
@psa10mew What’s your favorite Mew card? There’s so many great ones. I’d love to get Corocoro Mew. Expedition Mew is amazing. Black and white full art mew’s are both stunning as well. Also can’t forget black star promo mew. I think my favorite is Expedition tho. Mario and Cosplay Pikachu’s are beautiful. I’d love to pick those up myself as well!

9s are perfect cards to collect usually, but I have this issue that I´m always thinking to myself that there is an even better version out there, the grading companies got me

@shadowless Every now and then I find a rare case where the PSA 10 is only a hundred or so more then the 9. I think about grabbing it but decide against it. Simply to use that money towards more cards. And the fact I feel like I’ll be that guy to find a flaw in 10s I buy. Or off center etc. I’m not in this for the money so I just go with my gut haha. At the same time that’s screwed me out of sweet deals on graded cards when I was buying all my WOTC binder cards. I’m definitely always happy with my decisions tho and that’s what counts. Whatever makes you happy!

Let me know if you need a Nidoking list. I make lists for single Pokémon collectors in all languages and variations pretty often. 
I can’t guarantee it’s 100% correct since I make them in about 45-90 minutes depending on how many releases it has, but it should contain almost all of them. Here that thread and here all the lists I’ve made thus far to give you an idea (more recent ones are more accurate; especially the ones from 2017/2018 contains some errors and are very outdated).
Good luck with your collection goals! Nidoking is an amazing Pokémon (even though it was one of just three Pokémon I never had as a kid of the first 151 Pokémon - the others being Venusaur and Hitmonlee

In light of a very recent event, I made new rules for myself regarding my collection:
- Pokemon purchases from now on are ONLY Gyarados.
- An exception can be made twice a year but will not exceed a total of $200 USD combined.
- Any other non-Gyarados cards/items I want can only be obtained either as gifts or through trades.
Tired of seeing things leave my grasp so I’m hoping that I can hone in on surprises that come up. Surprises being Gyarados cards/flats I did not expect to see.
In lighter news, I now have 167 out of 170 Gyarados Variants in Japanese/English (171 if counting New Year Present).
My goals for the coming year are the following:
- Unlimited Japanese Gyarados EX 081/080 (Rage of the Broken Heavens Set)
- Unlimited Japanese Mega Gyarados EX 082/080 (Rage of the Broken Heavens Set)
- CoroCoro New Year Present Card
- Search through the sewers of Japan to find a beatup Snap Gyarados card.
I do have some new goals I’ve added to the list but these will extend probably in the next year or two:
- Re-evaluate my Gyarados Flats Collection and reorganize it (by Flats, for those who don’t know, I mean my stickers/non-TCG cards, paper items)
- Search for obscure Gyarados Flats (inserts & promotional items)
- Non-TCG Gyarados flats signed by Arita, Sugimori, & Himeno - I want to focus on these 3 specifically since they’re the artists responsible for my original 5 Gyarados cards. I’ve wanted something unique the past few years that can tie my Flats & TCG collection together and have been inspired to make this the means of doing so.

Currently for my main goals I am working on in no particular order are:
- A full PSA 9 set of the exs from Dragon Frontiers
- A full PSA 10 set of the exs from Power Keepers
- A dex binder featuring at least one card for every Pokémon and form
- Getting an English Championship Arena
- PSA 7s or above on whatever Charizards I want to get!
From there I plan to just keep collecting what I like and enjoying the hobby!

I really like the corocoro mew and gold star mew, and the 20th anniversary festa mew. The championship arena with mew vs celebi is also a holy grail card for me.

I would love to own booster boxes of the first 6 EX sets but will ever be able to justify spending those kind of prices unless I trade for them.

Not sure if you’ve already seen it, but if not, I completed this goal and made an overview post of it for the first 7 gens. It’s currently a lower prio goal for me, so I won’t be adding gen 8 and the latest shiny Pokémon and forms any time soon, but it should help for the first 7 gens.

Yeah I have seen it! Its very awesome to see! Mine isn’t exactly like yours, but its still awesome to see someone elses take on the pokedex binder. Good luck for when you go back to it if you decide to!
