1st Edition Charizard BGS 10 going up for AUCTION Aug18?

Most things went over my max bids but I picked up the PSA 10 1st Edition Jungle Electrode Holo

No, they paid 8k for a BGS 9.5

With the market on psa 9 shadowless zards going up it’s a wonder if it will surpass unlimited 10s in price. It’s definitly possible. Also given that in the long run there is a chance that the pop of 9s will be much less than unlimited 10s due to print runs.

Good job brother. I’m happy for you;)

You already have a thread on this subject… The answer is no, it will not.

I was saying if they were thinking about crossing over to psa in hopes of a 10

Looks like the shadowless charizards have both roughly doubled in value over the past couple months
psa 10: 5k → 11.3k
psa 9: 500 → 1.1k

Has the unlimited charizard doubled in value? Don’t think so. I’ve heard a few people say the psa 9 unlimited has even gone down in value. The psa 10 unlimited has had a roughly 33% increase in value (1.5k → 2k, although not a whole lot of data points to go off of on ebay). I think people are starting to realize the rarity of the shadowless cards. Definitely possible that the psa 9 shadowless creeps on up to the unlimited 10, especially at the rate they’re increasing now.

Exactly. Based on the way the market is going if that path continues psa 9 shadowless will pass psa 10 unlimited. As far as value goes. Unlimited will pass shadowless in pop it has way more print runs. It’s just a matter of time. Unless the pop stays equal as they are now I would agree that unlimited 10 would always remain higher. Chances of that though are very small again because of the amount of prints on unlimited

I’d love to bet pink slips on that :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Let’s do it then - make it an even bet, 1% of my collection’s net worth vs 1% of your collection’s net worth

I meant jungle, whoops! I’m happy it went to someone in the forum at least. I likely would have gone into a bid war with you but I really do need to save to get the trophies I’m looking towards. I would agree that the prices are quite low right now though. I nice pick up, I’ll have to grab some myself in the coming months

Interesting. It’s a rare occurrence when the second of the identical card being auctioned goes LOWER than the first…

I am glad you listened to Gary’s advice and not mine, although it’s typically the opposite in my experience. I would love to hear your rationale Gary…

Beckett just released an article on the most recent PWCC 1st ed zard auctions…

The Pidgeot I grabbed also was the second of two listings and ended up being the lower of the two

There’s many reasons but I guess the main two are I’ve been watching for more years than I like to admit and in paying attention that’s the conclusion I’ve come to.
The second reason is quite simple. The one highest on the list is viewed 100% of the time by 100% of the bidders. The one closing second is viewed and bid on a lesser number of times. Bid on less cause let’s say I see your base PSA 9 charizard first so I pop a proxy bid or snipe on it. Now I see PFM’s base PSA 9 charizard. It’s very unlikely I’ll bid on his as long as a bid on yours is still active for me.
Years ago, there was a Yahoo Auctions USA. We used to have to pay extra to get higher on the list so we were seen first. Another strategy was to see when other like items were closing then we’d arrange our closings just before the competition.

Now is it 100%? Ofcourse not but when margins matter this all should be kept in mind.

Can anybody think of another reason.

I presume thats confirmation that the sale went through with the winner, poor Gary :slightly_frowning_face:

Good and easy views for their website, super easy ad revenue.
Beckett makes at least 1$ off this from ad revenue wether it sold for 55k or not.

@garyis2000 Gary, I’m really sorry for you. But you having the balls to free up 70k for it and striking out on 55.5k due to auction manipulation… I hope a second offer comes through for you. If not, the card either gets relisted next month or is never gonna see light of day again and is bought by a sports collector that reads the 'Zard article in SMR.
