Maybe…if the guy is like me, the card would be in the darkness for the rest of its life :sunglasses:
I should start to share my collection one day .-.

I didn’t even know Chumlee had a pokemon Youtube channel until last week

Chumlee is not allowed to buy items above 5k anyway (or that’s atleast what the show is trying to make you believe)

These prices are absoultely insane. Over 8k for a shadowless bgs 9.5 (so potentially paying over 8,000 for a shadowless psa 9) that is just effed. I can’t believe it. Hope these prices are sustainable.

BGS is going to see a HUGE influx of BGS 9.5 minimum crossover requests of charizards currently residing in PSA 9 cases.

Crazy auction that is for sure! PSA 10 1st Ed Charizard price levels are soon going to surpass Michael Jordan rookie in PSA 10, which is a pretty important milestone I reckon.

PWCC (22th Aug) MJ 10 - $20,100
PWCC (29th Aug Zard 10 - $20,000

Continuing from this logic, let’s assume there are only 3 people interested in the auction. The first card will probably be won by whoever wants it most and is willing to dish out the most. When the second item is about to expire, 33% of the competition is removed and the person who was willing to pay the most has already likely won the first one.

Another factor I can attest to from my experience yesterday is psychologically, I was not interested in paying more than what the first item expired at. I was watching both carefully and I would not bid over the first item because it feels like I’d be overpaying for the card.

A final thing to consider is that auctions tend to draw people who want to snipe a deal. When I saw the first Nidoking go over $300 (I didn’t want to pay that much) I figured they both would end that high. Other people may have given up without bidding because of that assumption.

So yeah, I think there are a lot of psychological factors to consider. But I persevered with Gary’s words echo in my head “bid the second…” like a professor telling you not to ride your bike indoors.

Unlimited has more than doubled in a 10 about 4 months ago it was about 600-700 avg i got mine in march for $360

Time to lock this thread?? :stuck_out_tongue:

lol

Fine with me. Auction is over. Future discussions should go to another post.

Just to throw an outlier in there: The 1st ed Raikou PSA 9s from last night sold in succession, but the second one was much higher. An opposite factor other than not wanting to pay more than the first one sold is if you missed out on the 1st one, you may want to bid higher to ensure you get it the next time around. Likely what happened with the Raikou cards, there was at least one person that made sure they would get it and probably just threw a towering max bid on it.

I’m not smart enough to phrase it any better than I already did.
