I don’t know what the likelihood of pre-order fulfillment is, but Amazon UK currently have the ETBs listed for £52.50 RRP, which I was quite surprised by. Beats the £79.95 Chaos Cards seem to be asking anyway.
Edit: I imagine the result will be something like…
According to their preorder polcy they only charge you once the item is shipped, so with nothing deducted unless they actually fulfill it there isn’t much downside risk.
Before the Champions Path ETB disappeared from the Ebgames website. I remember the estimated pre order release date was changed to the 1st of November. I checked to see if my preorder was still active on my account on Friday.
I pre-ordered a Champion’s Path ETB box early August and the estimated date to start off with was the 25th of September on my receipt a month ago, then it changed to the 1st of November and then just recently changed back to the estimated date of September 25th today.
I assumed they were going send out a second wave ETB, scheduled to arrive around the end of october from information going around the internet, which matched up with the 1st of November date.
So its possible the other stores might not get Champions Path until late october.
Maybe EB Games like in the past have gotten the most of the allocation yet again. They got first dibbs with Dragon’s Majesty last time, the only place I could buy an etb and pin collection box was Eb games either via pre order or instore on release. Other places had no Dragon Majesty products until a month or so later.
GAME were doing pre-orders for £52.50 as well but they appear to be out of stock as of yesterday. If you don’t want them straight away you’ll be able to buy them online from Smyths Toys as well on the 25th for £52.49.
As said before the pin collections and V boxes are much better value for money if you’re buying for the packs.
Smyths are doing there usual £10 off every £50 spent meaning you can pick up as many ETB’s you want for £42.50 each.
Or if you want the pin boxes etc, when you buy £50 worth you’ll get £10 off
They did this last year on Hidden Fates release date as well. My local Smyths are usually slow at putting things out on the shelves so i had them grab a fresh case of ETB’s out the back so i could buy one.
EDIT: Rumours are going around that this offer has now been cancelled for this year due to stock shortages, Not sure how true they are but we will just have to wait and see
@pikachutcg , Get in, that was the news I was hoping for. I dragged my girlfriend around Smyths this time last year because of the exact same deal (one of my pics from that day below ). And so began her journey into collectibles… except she ended up being a philistine & taking the Disney store limit edition route instead of Pokemon. I love how even in adulthood Pokemon still has the ability to create memories.
Also this goddamn forum is so distracting while I’m at work, I’ve got 2 major audits on this week and I’m seriously running behind FML
hahah i had a similar experience with my missus i found some HF tins, click and collected them from a town 2hrs away and she came for the drive, she opened half the packs and pulled the shiny zard safe to say she was hooked and is now collecting and looking for her childhood cards! Also has a poke instagram now hahaha
Unfortunately the annual promotion i previously mentioned in this thread has since been cancelled due to COVID-19.
It should have started today if not earlier this week so i messaged the Smyths Facebook Customer Service and they confirmed it has been cancelled this year.
Just thought i would let you guys know so you don’t make a wasted journey there because of my previous post. Sorry
@pikachutcg ahhhh sheit thanks for the heads up, am popping to the Edinburgh store tomorrow as I’m off work, will be looking for HF tins more than CP ETBs though as I’ve already had my fill >.>. Woulda been nice to get some cheap product but in all honesty I’ll be glad to grab some stuff at retail if its stocked yet.
I heard Walmart/Target actually start stocking new products one day before the release date, can someone with more Walmart/Target hunting experience confirm that? If so, I’ll try to make a trip to local Target/Walmart after work today to see if I can get some ETBs to open.
i can confirm that they usually do. i went a little late a couple hours after opening and it was wiped out. but the tags that show where it once was is still there
Here is the promised followup: went to both my local Walmart/Target, wasn’t even able to find the Pokemon section at Walmart, probably all products are gone, or that Walmart doesn’t carry Pokemon? Target will stock tomorrow.
