Pokemon classic set is kinda cool. It’s like a boomers nostalgic paradise

The thing is… Are we going to get a reprint of base set now EVERY year?

Please no Eevees. I don’t want this.

It appears the 3 decks are the big 3 plus a new ex card. It doesn’t look like there will be any Eevee cards in the decks

Lottery sales?

Hmm, will they have time to do another one before the 30th anniversary reprint?

Yes and you WILL buy them EVERY year and like it!

I’m very excited for the classic card game, as I never played the card game as a kid, but do now! Yes, the cards are reprints (although still cool), but I am excited just to play!

In the future we’ll be getting a base set reprint 4 times a year in place of our standard sets, and a new set once a year. The 30-40 year old generation can finally enjoy Pokémon as it was intended: 151 Pokémon, no more and no less. TPCi’s greatest gift to mankind. Tangela collectors will be overjoyed their favorite Pokémon gets 4 cards a year, giving them purpose again. But the rest of us, we’ll all be begging TPCi to return to the good old days, when base set only got 2 reprints a year and Charizard headlined every set. Because at least then, we got to catch momentary glimpses of other Pokémon from gens 2-23.

If the MSRP for the classic card game is the same as its Japanese release, that would be a shame. $275 for 3 decks of cards that are not legal in any Pokemon format seems very steep.

Pokémon caters to the 10%-90% percentile for players and collectors. This product is going to sell out easily, even if people are tired of base set reprints. E4 is more like the 95th percentile collector, so it makes sense to see negativity for this release

The Pokémon Trading Card Game for Gameboy Color will be coming to Nintendo Switch online in the near future. Its a great way to play the original tcg without having to dish out a lot of money for the cards and you don’t even need another person to play.

Oh cool, I didn’t realize this! I still like playing with physical cards/they have some ex’s added for new mechanics, too  This is a nice other option though.
Thanks!

There better not be. I kind of don’t want this product. From the moment they said it was a premium product in the video, I already knew it was going to be stupid expensive for what it was.

Oh boy, another base set reprint  if they wanted to do classic decks, it wouldve been cool to see playable decks that were actually used. But, that would probably mean not reprinting charizard for the 50th time… im just salty we didnt get any games for virtual console :sob:

Looks cool, but (like Celebrations), Japan’s reprints look visually much better than English. Hoping that the English holo looks nicer in person than the small glimpses we saw in the trailer. I am quite excited for this. I hope that it isn’t too limited in print since every remaining #grindset stonker will try to buy 20

I think the gap will maybe be a bit smaller this time. No pika face, holo seems decent. I like what I see here, at least much more so than english 25th which I had 0,00% interest in:

That gold border isn’t a Japanese exclusive, is it? Because I desperately need an English gold holo Oak…
