Do LCS doing anything for Pokémon day? Like comic book day
Definitely “interested” in paradox suicune, id imagine the card for it will be similar to the Koraidon ex alt art - a jungle setting with a waterfall?

The Pokémon Company hardly does anything for Pokémon Day, so i’m gonna say no.
I also like Suicune, but that thing isn’t Suicune. First paradox form I actually dislike

I wonder if Sugimori still has to sign off on the new designs. Not that I particularly dislike them but I genuinely wonder.
Do the artists own the designs they’ve created? I’ve never really thought about it, but I feel like artists hired to design games or media enter contracts to render rights to all designs (used or unused) to the studio, right? So in this case, Sugimori would receive credit for designing and creating Suicune but TPC owns the actual rights to use the creature however they see fit. I’m not sure though. I’m sure you or someone else here would know more about TPC artist contracts?
The thing is Suicune wouldn’t even have a paradox per say. It was a dog before being resurrected by ho-oh. Or am I looking too much into this?..

@enigma . I pretty sure that TPC and Creatures Inc own all Pokemon designs and rights to those designs. Arita gets no commission on Charizard and cannot use Charizard’s image for his own gain. Anyone who submits art for contests to TPC give up all right to that art. Other TCGs are different. MTG artist have rights to the art they create for the TCG. Or at least they did, not sure how the changes in that corp affected artists. They can sell the prints, produce play mats and such

It definitely breaks lore if past paradox forms are from the canonical timeline’s past. But if paradox Pokemon originate from an alternate universe(s) that simply resemble the main timeline’s past or future, then it could be a different Pokemon that only resembles Suicune as we know it. The game doesn’t make any of this clear, however, and I doubt they will for 2 reasons: leaving the time machine details ambiguous allows for a greater amount of creative liberties to be taken by the design team. and also, lore consistency has never been the series’ strong suit.
Well this time the base forms get the holo treatment as well.
I think it’s a pity since they could have reserved something like this for the 30th.
Give the 151 a unique foil treatment.
Now when that happens on the 30th, there’ll already be so many times the well has been visited.
edit: Not saying the well hasn’t already been visited, but all 9 of the starters, Pikachu, Mewtwo, Chansey and Oak will get them this time plus a few more.
At least before Celebrations, Blastoise hadn’t been reprinted since Base Set 2?
For those that don’t know, the company Nendo (founded by Oki Sato) collaborating with TPC for this Pokémon Card Game Classic is also responsible for the card designs in Scarlet & Violet.
They also designed the Creatures office that was revealed at the end of January this year
For non-Pokémon projects ranging from building architecture to interior design to furniture & utility to handcraft, they worked with other premium brand clients such as Shiseido, Apple, Cartier and LV. They even designed the Olympic torch stand for Tokyo 2020 (2021). TPC is investing more as a luxury brand, and with Pokémon Center 25th & Worlds Japan around the corner, we might see more of its effects this year.

I certainly hope the special 151 set later this year won’t contain reprints like this… I hope they’ll make Alt Arts and/or Character Rares of the entire first gen of 151 Pokémon. Although it’s probably going to be a reprint of the Base Set, Jungle, and Fossil artworks no doubt…
