It’s that time of year again—the time to predict and (sometimes irresponsibly) wildly speculate on what may be revealed or transpire this year on Pokémon Day, February 27th.
We already know the 2024 Illustration contest cards along with a Sylveon and Ceruledge promo will be released in English on Pokémon Day at select organized events.
Last year Pokemon Legends Z-A was announced for the Nintendo Switch and since then, the Nintendo Switch 2 has been revealed.
Do you think we will receive new information regarding Z-A or perhaps a new spinoff will be revealed for the Switch 2? Maybe a new look at an upcoming TCG set? Would love to hear what fun predictions you all have.
I am once again hoping for generations 1-3 to be playable through the Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) service, but at this point it’s more of a running joke than an actual prediction. My wild speculation is that we will get a gameplay trailer for Legends Z-A and in it, a bunch of new Mega Evolutions will be revealed. Namely Mega Flygon.
There will be no product shortages, no mouth in the hahbee will go hungry. BA DUM TSS!
Ok, in much, much, much less wild and irresponsible predictions:
The great war of TPC and Aka-Bane will begin. TPC will draw first blood by including a trainer full art of a caricatured japanese nerd in a compromising position doing the vulcan salute, illustrated by Sugi himself in his old watercolor style for effect. The Aka-Bane-network will retaliate by scalping the living daylight out of the Team Rocket set. Extreme product shortages lead to inner turmoil at TPC, hahbeeists fight each other in the streets, Okubo will be granted emergency powers, and the Aka-Bane vs TPC conflict quickly devolves into a three-way TCG civil war.
The easy one is Legends Z-A release date and a full trailer.
A wild and irresponsible one is Gen 10 announcement coming Holidays 2026 for the Switch2. No info other than “it’s coming”. Maybe a silhouette of the region map or starters but super limited info.
Even wilder would be a direct Palmon competitor. Real Pokemon with Guns MMO, or something in that vein.
To make a truly wild prediction: No ingame events for Pokémon Café Remix, Masters EX or Sleep are announced and the Presents instead almost solely focusses on Legends Z-A.
