Got this and a few others from the massive Probstein block tonight. Someone consigned an enormous amount of EX era holos and reverse holos and a ton went for great prices due to the crazy volume.

Ahh the collectors dilemma. We’ve all been here. It seems you have reached the stage of acceptance. As we all know, this decision will slowly eat away at you. I look forward to seeing your post sometime in the next 5 years when you give a further detailed example of the differences for future collectors.

Insane deals there. Ex 9s are just the best value in the game rn.
And yeah 9s from deoxys and TRR are very respectable grades. Not too far off from a 10 from another set in terms of difficulty to acquire.
I forced myself not to bid on any since it was getting overwhelming and I gotten focus on 10s for my PC.
Loads of deals to be had last night. That dragonair I got was only $200

I mentioned this a while back in another thread but I feel EX-era regular holos (and even reverses) are criminally underappreciated right now. The artwork (especially from R&S - Dragon) is phenomenal and imo ranks up there with a lot of the WOTC stuff. Only drawback I can think of is the rarity bloat (Ex + gold stars) making these cards feel like less of a chase and a lack of set cohesion/theming for some of the holos in the later, non-delta species sets. Otherwise, they’re phenomenal cards that are flying under many collectors’ radars which provides a great buying opportunity.

I totally agree. I want to point out that in some sets reverse holos of a specific card are actually the rarest pull in the set with .5 or fewer copies in each box. and yet… $30 for a pack-fresh PSA 9 I guess. Especially for holo patterns or sets where PSA is already hard enough to acquire like EXD, EXTRR or the 2003/4 full holo reverses.
I think about how you could open a $600 booster pack and have the best card you open be a reverse holo in PSA 8 condition, or you could just buy a reverse holo of your choice in psa 9 for $100 or less

Cough all of deoxys being worth less than ~100$ (most less than 50) for holo 9s with trash print quality and the most expensive heavy packs in ex
