Having the two side by side really sells how much better the Japanese card looks with the non-holo flame. Really strongly prefer the flames as part of the art versus the background.

Bought a Brilliant Stars booster box a few weeks back as I haven’t opened any packs since the release of Evolving Skies. Nice to find both of these inside.

Funny enough I feel the opposite. The shadowless template of the card is so unique and is unmatched for me.

For as much as we can litigate design changes between releases and which one is better, at least both existing means nobody is denied a favorite.

Here’s the Neo Genesis favorites I picked up. Mixed grade set from 8s-9s. I might eventually finish the set but I’ve been currently bouncing around just going for my favorites. I was on kind of a swirl kick for most of this set.

Reshiram texture shift 
one of the only Japanese BW Era texture shifts I’ve ever seen, and on one of my favorite ever textured cards.
I can’t stop adding error cards to my collection, which unfortunately means other cards have to be inevitably be sacrificed for funds. It’s interesting to me how my collection goals and desires, outside of Chansey, fluctuate quite a bit each year.
