What card do you appreciate today?

One of metagross’ best depictions.

I consider this Pokémon to be one of the most forgotten, even in its own appearance in second Gen, since it introduced a Ghost-type leader who doesn’t even have it on their team. But this card is fantastic in my opinion.

I’m not a big Charizard fan, but I finally saw a copy of this in person recently and love the dynamic artwork/details:

107/XY-P : Treecko

Sticking to XY promos, this very cool looking Treecko which was given as a gift when you purchase Double Crisis expansion packs from stores. Really gives you vibes of it being Ash’s Treecko which was depicted as a super cool Pokemon in the anime.

Cheers!

I just can’t unsee the claw / jaw position. Ruins the card for me. Great concept though.

First of all, Thank you @Vertemes for this great thread, I love looking at the cards people appreciate and it has made me look at some cards differently, and especially nowadays that everything pokemon is so expensive, makes me appreciate cheap cards with beautiful artworks

And now to the cards I appreciate today, actually two cards

They are from different artists and from different sets, but I think they compliment each other very much, both beautiful artworks

Lol, I guess I’m lucky in that I don’t see that awkwardness with the jaw/arm without really trying, but I know what you mean haha.

This card is simple but so impressive!

This card came out during the time that I was away from the TCG (approx 2011-2021) but it is now probably my favorite Gardevoir illustration.

The pose is dynamic and intense - she wields a ball of energy that leaks out bright beams of light, muting the colors of everything else in the scene. In fact, I originally thought that this was a shiny Gardevoir since her usual green color is looking very blue.

The sheen holofoil works really well here too; something more busy like cosmos holofoil would visually clash with the composition of the scene and ruin the overall effect in my opinion.
