Jungle Pidget is probably my favorite Kagemaru Himeno illustration and most definitely my favorite depiction of Pidgeot.
I miss the simple backgrounds on a lot of the early illustration for the card game, they really let the Pokemon itself pop against the starlight and cosmos holofoil treatment. Nowadays the only cards that we get in this style are the “baby shinies” from sets like Paldean and Shining Fates but they just don’t hit the same for me.

Australian stuff pops especially with thw foil for some reason. Pidgeot is 100% one of the most badass arts, i wish it was more competitive in base-fossil.

If I could pick a card I always just stop and look at it’s this one, the light dances on it depending which way you move it, its got a holo back, it has crosshairs instead of alignment dots and it’s had so many different variations across different decades.
