I want to get back to collecting Aya Kusube art and chill.
This whole situation with willing to be complete with last 3 Sw/Sh sets made me distracted and then all those new cool stuff that is fairly cheap and etc.etc.etc.
I’m almost done with Silver Tempest and Crown Zenith.
Pikachu in grey felt hat gave me an idea about a little VanGogh collection (i had this Playmobil one and now Pikachu. I want to build a little stand with such things, always liked Vincent - his life inspired me during my hard times, and this Pikachu chaos made me remember that)
I would love to finish my 2023 goals in 2024.
Here are my goals posted in December of 2023
Although I didn’t accomplish either of these two relatively easy goals I set for myself, 2023 has been insane. It has been my favorite year in Pokemon collecting by far. I went to Japan for Pokemon World’s and I own an original Komiya painting. Both of those achievements I didn’t think possible whatsoever a year ago.
As for 2024,
I do need to finish up with my start deck 100 master set. I have not gotten a single new card this year in that regards.
I will finish my Komiya master set up to the current date as well as start up on a second Japanese only Komiya master set.
I would like to travel to another regionals event, other than Toronto, with a chance of a signing. Along with this, I would like to own a couple more signatures in general. I do plan to attend World’s in Hawaii! 4. I would like to buy a couple more binders to start some more slow burn collections, perhaps artists or small sets. 5. Optimize my collection. Buckle down and sell lots of my weird, offside cards I buy so often. 6. Have fun, don’t stress, even if none of these goals get started. 7. Get some grails
So for 2024, the top priorities remain the same (in order).
0: First goal is not a collection goal, but I anticipate 2024 to have a lot of life expenses, so make sure I am not in the red collecting this year, at any point.
0.5: Continue grading cards to fund the below goals and also continue to sell off random parts of my collection that aren’t in the goals below.
1: Keep up my species ENG master sets along with any unique JP artwork/foil patterns etc. for the Togepi line & Jirachi
1.5: Slowly work away at the Jirachi WC deck cards, when I can find them. There is a lot of them haha
2: Continue trying to complete my CIB collection of mainline Pokémon games.
3: Keep looking to refine my slab collection and have a direction with what slabs I want to keep for my collection and which I want to sell.
4: I have been slowly working away at DP&P secret rares/mini sets and decided it would be super fun to slowly work away at completing each of the Gen 4 sets as a whole (including promos and POP series 6-9) This is a long term goal that I don’t intend to actively rush, but having each set of my favourite era complete would be pretty cool. This is more to seek these cards in trades when those opportunities arise.
I want to finally start individual “Trios” binders for the Final Evolutions of the Gen 1 starters and the Gen 1 Legendary birds. Basically any card that is connected like the Web Series Gen 1 Darks and the Fossil Set Birds.
Nevermind…I still will be collecting Lost Origin.
I just found that there are so many Prize Pack cards with the Lost Origin set symbol.
My master set is more like an “ultimate lost origin set” - I’m adding literally every L.O.-related card.
And…it seems that I have to get so many more.
AND re-migrate cards putting these prize pack cards after a line of the “normal set-cards”…
Oh well.
I think Lost Origin is one of the most CHUNKY pokemon sets if you want to collect literally everything.
Gengar and Hisuian Zoroark have so many different versions for example.
Outside of 1st Edition Base/shadowless (don’t feel like spending several thousand on those☠️), any Gen 1 starter card that is apart of a trio of artwork. For example, i wouldn’t do Legendary Collection because the blastoise is a reprint of rocket.
Same for the Legendary Birds cards that only include 1 or 2 of the birds, I wouldn’t put in the binder. I can’t think of an example off the top of my head but there are certain sets that would have a Zapdos card but no Moltres card.
My goal is to slowly try Complete Celebrations, Jungle Unlimted, Fossil Unlimited, and Team Rocket Unlimited. I am missing 7-9 holos per set.
Debating whether to start to try to get all of the Trainer Gallery and Character Rare cards. Maybe if things go well try to get all of the tag team cards.
As noted in cactuarcollectibles name, it’s a cactuar! It’s a species that doubles as both a fightable fiend but also an inhabitant of the desert. A recurring character in the series, even though they all span different lore and worlds.
If you like video games at all, at least rpg’s with the best stories and music ever made in video games, do yourself a favor, check ffx or ff7 out at the very least
I started my 2nd graded collection in September after being out of the game for 3 years and I am 2 cards away from lying to myself and saying that I have completed my collection
Attend more events and get involved with the community. I went to 2 signings last year and it was great to meet fellow collectors. Also get my GF interested in Pokemon → she was pretty bored when we went to Charlotte last year.

I’ve built a lot of web-scraping / ML / automation tools surrounding Japanese markets to grow my collection. I want to turn these from a side project into a public product in hopes of a passive income stream.
Pokemon Binders
I want to sell off my mint cards in order to fund binders, specifically:
Buy low-grade holos to complete English and JP WOTC-era binders
Complete ADV-P, PCG-P, and L-P (only numbered) binders
Acquire as many unique PCL autos as possible
Complete Imakuni binder (minus TMB and CoroCoro Sweepstakes) → searching for 16 Bakaboon promo cards and Korean unlimited base Porygon
Non-Pokemon Binders
I’m working toward completing binders of all Topps Star Wars and Indiana Jones artist sketch cards before 2011, specifically:
All 3 IJ sets (255 artists)
2004 SW Heritage
2004 SW Clone Wars
2005 SW Revenge of the Sith
2009 SW Galaxy S4 (won’t complete in 2024)
2010 SW Empire Strikes Back Widevision (won’t complete in 2024)
Most of these aren’t worth very much but maximize my satisfaction / $ ratio
