My big goal for next year is to obtain a piece of land to start construction on my future home; so Pokémon collecting may take a back seat for a little while at the outset of the year.
But of course I still have some easier goals in mind nonetheless because I’ll never fully be able to look away from Pokémon.
Finish my Jungle Pikachu binder (currently 6/12 1st Editions, 344/468 Unlimited) and get a custom frame for my PSA 1-10 set to hang in my office.
Set up a binder for VS series and knock out all of the non-holos and see what kind of dent I can put in the holo set
Keep up with any Pikachu cards released in 2022 (let a couple promos slip by me this year)
those r rly good goals and I think u can hit all of them. you can hit 200 e4 posts easy especially if u get into a conversation with someone on a thread. The only hard one will be the stamped champions festival but its def not impossible
Nothing crazy at all. I kinda stopped with my ex-series collection this year (which is a mixture of different languages to make it cheaper), I’m only missing 5 Gold Stars but I can’t be bothered with them. I could consider picking up a Flareon and a Regirock if I ever find them cheap but Team Rocket Returns Gold Stars I just can’t justify getting as it’s unlikely they’ll pop up at a price I’d pay, lol.
I’m hoping to make more progress with English and Japanese 25th Anniversary sets including Promos. On English side of things I’m only missing a few and in Japanese I’m mostly missing the Promos. I’m not in a rush, I’ll pick them up here and there.
And of course I’ll keep buying cards of my favorite Pokemon. My Salamence collection is almost complete: I have every English and Japanese Salamence card variant in a binder and most of them graded too, only missing a few. The graded collection will possibly never be complete as I stopped grading cards myself but if I see something I’m missing for a price I’ll pay I’ll pick it up. Next year I want to focus more on Flygon as I’m missing quite a lot. Rayquaza is in good shape if combining both graded and binder but it has started to annoy me how most of my favorite Rays are graded instead of being in binder. Maybe I’ll start picking some bad condition ones up to fill the binder, in the end the damages usually aren’t that visible in binder. We will see
I’m newer to the hobby relative to a lot of people here and once I got out of the “newest English set” perspective and shifted to Japanese I was bombarded with so many different cards and goals. It was definitely overwhelming (in a good way).
I think my personal 2022 resolution for collecting is to stop shotgun collecting anything cool that crosses my path and start setting a more defined direction that I want to take my collection now that I have a little more knowledge compared to when I started. I also think that I want to consolidate my collection down to a few big cards that mean a lot to me versus having a lot of everything, but that will require a lot of self discipline that I probably don’t have.
Somewhat newer to the hobby than a lot of the OGs on here. Got back into collecting late 2019 and really started picking it up about a year ago. My first collection goal was 1st Ed Fossil Psa 8 Holos. Got that pretty quick. Since then ive had random small collection goals that I haven’t stuck with until now. I am currently 4/16 holos completed for 1st Edition Base Set Thick Stamp PSA 9, as well as a few gray stamp common and uncommons. This was the first set I collected as a child, and watching my cousin complete the entire 1st ed base set back in 2000 is easily the most nostalgic part of the entire hobby for me. Chasing that high. I aim to get there within the next 6-7 months, and then onto some trophies. Cheers and happy hunting
Finishing Hidden Fates, Evolutions and Shining Legends master sets.
I have some of the more difficult cards to obtain but for Shining Legends I’m not close to finishing compared to the other two.
Been debating about framing or not, for now they’re in binders.
I have other smaller collection goals but those are not high priority right now.
Thanks for the kind words. I’m out of the country at the moment so can’t provide photos but I will be sure to do a thorough video of it in my collection thread when it’s finally complete.
I’ve taken a bit of a step back from my Mew/Mewtwo/Pikachu collection and starting to really enjoy BW era - so I’ll continue the hunt for mint Japanese SR and URs of BW whilst also picking up the odd bit of modern along the way, especially Japanese promos.
Not sure if I can advertise here either; but check my Instagram (same name) as I am releasing a product and hope this does well in 2022
Lol nope. I’m still in college so i’m picking up the cheap ones until I graduate and have a real salary and get my feet under me. The zard may not happen for a few years because I don’t want to over extend myself. The less desired ones I’m picking up for under $500 each.
Need to get a full CHR from VMAX CLIMAX, a WOTC Black star promo set, Japanese pokemon center promo psa 10 pikachus( the remaining ones i need), and Full team rocket set for a binder. Besides that Im trying to cut back on buying modern as I keep getting garbage pulls and green codes
Long time lurker, first time poster! Hoping to clear most of these in 2022.

SF project started early last year but it’s moving slow and steady. Got pretty lucky finding a Celebrations UPC at msrp & that helped out a ton. Putting aside some money each month just to buy a ton of ES booster boxes so I can open them all next holiday season. I know my odds are low but I’m hoping to pull it.
