Video about the Logan case

No eBay protection because the deal was going to happen outside of eBay -

“The seller accepted the highest bid, which was made by @psapikachu for $72,500. Both he and the seller agreed to cancel the eBay auction and continue their deal off eBay for more than the winning bid.”

I guess I was asking if the deal were to stay on eBay, would this be a pretty easy case for the buyer to resolve? I know 70k is a lot to risk but in my eyes this seems like it would be a pretty open & shut case. Just a hypothetical question :stuck_out_tongue:

eBay would be pretty annoyed but I’m sure they’ll handle it. It’s just transactional for them.

Who needs protection from eBay though when this clearly breaks laws and will cause legal trouble for all those (willingly) involved in the scam.

Case-sception

My 2c is that this situation has rattled (pun intended) a few cages and some true colours are being shown.

cardkahuna’s DM’s to Rattle were so entitled and toxic, and a lot of the people who are clearly associated with the sale are getting very rude and defensive.

I had hoped it was real for everyone’s sakes, but now it would feel like karma if it were fake - based on how they have treated Rattle and his (genuine) research.

Just keeps getting stranger!

For anyone wondering where the PSA pack info came from here are the original threads by @cinnaminhbun & @thatpikachuguy

Do these EX Deoxys packs look fake?

Also a similar more recent thread here of someone claiming they resealed a pack themselves and sent it in to PSA and it passed (no evidence was given)

Can you imagine what will happen to the value of this 1st Edition case if it’s proven to be real? With all the publicity this story is getting, I’d see this being the most sought after box in Pokemon history. All the experts and big names are watching this event unfold. Even if it turns out as fake, LP will get his money back and still make millions on the podcast proving this.

Today I watched a YouTube sports card video of people talking about this. They have a lot more experience with getting sports wax boxes authenticate by BBCE. They stand behind BBCE and think they did a good job with this Pokemon case. But they are watching this closely as it could effect their hobby as well.

One thing I’d like to see is Rattler reaching out to LP and getting his take on the situation. He has some facts and information on buying the case. I’m sure he didn’t jump in blindly and spend $3.5 million without some homework. LP already bought a box of 1st edition Base from Pokejew, so has some kind of rapport with him.

This is the most excited I have ever been, about any pokemon opening/news ever.

For sure people are rattled. There is a lot of life-changing factors involved and people are feeling the tension. In the end we should be happy it’s in the hands of Logan. It’s now with someone who is somewhat a lover of Pokemon, has a legal team big enough to dig, and above all hate’s loosing money/time. He is the best person with the most resources to get to the bottom of it all.

I’m dreaming of a whole video series where we works with all the people involved back to the original sale. Like an investigation series all the way back to who made this thing.

Rattles latest vid on this is :fire:.

All these salty flippers telling rattle he is wrong are only further driving suspicion.

BBCE should be insured against this outcome, tbh. There is a chance that an insurer is the one left holding the bag at the end of it all.

I would really, really hope that BBCE is insured. lol. I can’t imagine not having insurance in that line of business.

What exactly would be insured though? It’s a “guarantee” that the box is factory sealed. So if its opened and its all fake, does the insurance company pay out the value of what should have been in the box?

You can get insurance against damages caused by a failure of your professional opinion.

In one of Rattle’s videos it was mentioned that BBCE does not assume any financial responsibility when they certify a product. There is no money-back guarantee and no insurance. I believe this came directly from an email exchange with one of the guys at BBCE. Their argument is that if they were to offer a money-back guarantee it would make BBCE a target of fraudlent claims.

That is, professionally speaking, horse shit.

They could literally just get insurance through a third party and factor the cost of small claims + risk of filing against that insurance into their prices.

I hit up my insurance homie and asked him to make an article talking about it. Will see what comes of it.
