Outstanding investigative journalism. Huge kudos to @rattlebear .
One small thing worth mentioning: Rattle said that it doesn’t seem possible to scan the barcode, but I actually was able to scan it. Not surprisingly, the result was neither the code on the label (WOC060331E) nor the legit product code (WOC06033).
That’s probably due to the degraded quality of the barcode giving a wrong read - the barcode does match the WOC06033. (which is pretty damning when it has WOC060331E printed above it)
‘Pokebutler’ is the right name (eBay and insta), whether or not he was involved in this remains to be seen. I remember the scumbag from personal experience, about 8yrs ago.
The last I heard of this guy was through Aronthemon and how he scammed him years back through 1st Ed “sealed” blisters. Wouldn’t surprise me if he was somehow involved on this case at some point.
After watching this I can’t help but wonder if Shyne or Kahuna are talking amongst themselves or to people close to them that this is going to come back and bite them. So many pieces of evidence point to this being a faked box, incredible work again by @rattlebear
Some sports collectors coming into Pokémon have too much hubris. It reminds me of sports people hyping up “1995” Topsun “rookie cards” as if Pokémon collectors were too simple minded to place the proper value. If they bothered to check in with Pokémon collectors it would save them money.
Wonder what LP does now, that’s a messy web of relationships to have to deal with. Absolutely nutty that this got hyped up to be a legit sealed case when the providence of it was so dubious.
logans box adventures and mishaps really scares the general public away from buying sealed product I’d imagine. He makes it seem like its a 50-50 shot to be completely scammed
I just watched the original video from Meely Pops. Just so many people involved with so little knowledge of Pokemon…the Baseball Card exchange part was an eye opener. Especially the last part (like Rattle said in his video) where CardKahuna said that it was the first Pokemon product that BBCE had ever wrapped
