If I bought any sealed it’d go right into my PC for sure.
I still want one too. Used to have a good one but it was traded here on e4. All of sealed feels so inflated with slabs being cheap rn

Do you think when/if slabs rise the box price will stay the same or just continue to rise keeping a poor EV?

I mean either way slabs are the play ATM. Either they go back up to match boxes or boxes come down to match what’s in them. Like you can get pack fresh gold stars for the cost of a pack or 2 if you just know what auctions to watch. It’s a no brainer

Very true. No question if you’re not specifically out for sealed and just want the card, slab is the play. Prices for ex era 9s from what I’ve seen are pretty solid for most cards atm.
So I haven’t checked the EX box market pretty much at all in the past year or so. But I just did a look out of curiosity…
and is it just me or did the supply of EX become even more obscenely dry? Like, it’s not clear if prices have gone up or not because there’s so little sales data. But this is what’s listed on eBay right now:
1x Deoxys - $78k (absurd price)
1x TRR - $50k (absurd price)
2x Crystal Guardians - $38k (absurd price) and $24k (absurd price)
3x Emerald - $36.5k (absurd price), $26k (absurd price), and $22.5k (absurd price)
1x Unseen Forces -$35k (absurd price)
1x Sandstorm - $19.5k (absurd price)
2x Power Keepers - $19.5k (absurd price) and $16k (absurd price)
That’s 11 boxes total across 7 sets, for an era with 16 sets. And there’s not a single box for sale that’s even remotely close to FMV. Literally every single one is listed for at least 50% above (what I assume to be) FMV.
EX has always been scarce (at least for the past 5 years while I’ve been tracking). But I have never, never seen the market this barren. In past years, there were usually at least 1-3x each of TMTA, Hidden Legends, or Sandstorm boxes listed for maybe 25% above FMV. But except for a lone Sandstorm box listed for 200% of FMV, there there isn’t even a single box of any of those sets listed at all.
Anyway, just an observation. Was kind of surprised and wanted to write down my thoughts.
