THE Great Grading Results Thread

I thought the swampert could get pristine. Not unhappy though!

Wow amazing returns considering how tough LC is to grade.

Clean PSA 8 to BGS 9.5

PSA 8 to BGS 9 (8.5 surface was expected, had an odd print line thing on the back).

Honestly pretty happy. Graded two of the bigger shadowless 9.5s recently (Blasty and Rai).

Had a great modern order, got a ton of 10s (usually have to pay the tax with one or two of these). Also finally got a grader to give me (OC) grades; that Cheren got a 6 before

Had a weird return here. My cards were in assembly for 20 days but went to qc and back to me in the UK in about 2 days. I can only imagine the link between the middleman’s website and psa had a hiccup.

It’s a mixed bag for me. A couple of bogging (good Scottish word for you) merlin sticker grades but a couple of good ones. The Bear walker skateboard I picked up really cheap so that’s fantastic getting a 10 on that as I want to add it to the PSA english masterset.

Overall fine enough but will need to replace at least one merlin card!

My main gripe is I always put in a submission list with my orders as I know some of these are a bit niche and I do plenty of research myself.

Lately that’s been getting ignored. The Dunkin Boomer is a 2000 set not 1999. And would have been a pop 1 even at that grade.

My middleman is ignoring my submission list and PSA don’t seem to be spotting the issue. They recently graded two cosmos holo as normal holo due to the same issue.

Obviously wasn’t expecting a 10, but I can’t believe this got a 5. No creasing or dents. There’s edge whitening/silvering and some holo scratching, but it’s otherwise a really visually pleasing card. Thoughts? Am I completely misaligned on PSA’s grading scale?

After zooming in on those back edges I don’t think a 5 is crazy. The whitening looks like it covers the entirety of the edges.

I would disagree. A 5 with this edge whitening is hard. I recently graded cards with way more whitening, and they received mostly 6s. So this should be a 6-7.

Either PSA saw a micro dent or hole that you missed, or they thought they saw something. I’m 3/3 for getting 6’s I disagreed with upgraded (two 10’s, one 9).

If you are confident there isn’t anything beyond whitening on edges/corners, crack and regrade.

Obviously PSA’s fault on the mislabels along with your middleman not submitting correctly.

That said, do you submit with any frequency? If so it’d probably be worth submitting directly to PSA yourself. For larger bulk submission counts (the inflection point is probably around 30-35 cards, I haven’t checked recently) it will generally work out cheaper than the middleman as well.

It’s a fair point. UK to USA shipping with insurance is a bit ridiculous so it put me off.

In hindsight I should have considered it when I first started the graded collection. I’ll be so sporadic now that I am on the home straight it’s probably not worth it today.

Grades just got in!

Overall, pretty happy. These cards are so tough to grade so I’ll take only one 7 and everything else higher! A lot of these were cracked out of from CGC slabs and either stayed the same or increased, so I’ll definitely take that.

I am a bit surprised I got 8s on the Drifloon and one of the Milotics. The Driifloon was a CGC 8 with binder circles on the front, and I damaged the Milotic on accident cracking it out of its BGS 8 slab.

Seems that FedEx has lost/stolen this package :sob::disappointed: left cgc on the 24th, last scanned elsewhere in Florida early the 26th and no updates since. Really wanted that kabutops back. Sad.

26th of last month? Don’t give up hope they use registered mail which is notoriously slow and does not have many updates

  • Also the CGC status site auto brings you to FedEx when you click on it but it’s actually a USPS number

Nah, it’s FedEx ground with a FedEx tracking in this case :disappointed:

Weird, all of my subs have FedEx links but are actually USPS numbers

You’re a big baller with big orders. Mine is 8 cards lol

My stuff is all bulk cause I’m cheap. There’s a lot of cards but I can wait extra time to save money. I think I even sent my base 1st Ed Charizard as bulk. The only card they ever up charged me for

Here are some of the other LC reverses and holos that I pulled from an LC box I got back in 2012 for $250

Glad I was able to call out my higher grades in the first request I sent out. I’m sending out the last batch of LC Reverses I pulled and will update here once they are graded.
