I have seen this happen first-hand, we never confirmed it 100% as the person ended up getting a much higher grade than we expected (on a psa 6 crack and re-sub) and didnt want to look further. But it was a big wotc too and the card game back with no subs when they were paid for.
For context I was checking bgs pop on the day and 2 of these cards were added on the day. One was a 7.5 with subs that matched said card, the other an 8.5 no subs. Thought the 7.5 was the re-sub.
I won’t go any further into this but yeah, bgs scares me sometimes

Had a pretty good crack and resubmit on my last sub:
Was pack fresh pulled by myself and still can’t find any real issues on it. Was worth it to go from a 7 to a 9, but probably not worth trying again for the 10.

Beautiful card! My Crobat also has a swirl between it’s left wing and left ear but your swirl has a more interesting placement.
Submitted some of my childhood cards and the grades came back. Mostly what I was expecting, though I think the Rocket’s Mewtwo had a real shot at a 10.

Haha fully agreed. Super happy. Most of them sat in a binder since the day I got them, albeit without sleeves. 
The Rocket sets onward are definitely in better condition than Base and Fossil, which were mostly traded on the playground.

Every grading company has there fair share of how tf did this get a 9?!?! examples. People LOVE to cherry pick theae examples when arguing against that given company.
Im generally a PSA collector, i do have a decent amount of some CGC/SGC/BGS slabs though. I have more confidence in PSA when it comes to mid grade cards. I genuinely have no idea what to expect, condition wise, when i purchase a CGC 7 or a BGS 7. I do with PSA.
Granted, that comes with that fact that Ive graded tons of cards with PSA over the years so naturally i am more familiar with their scale.

PSA in Japan has a separate site? Easier or harder graders? A PSA BOOM in Japan?

Up until recently all submissions were sent to the US for grading. The first batch of cards graded in Japan are scheduled to come back in around October, so we’ll see.
I can attest that PSA has quickly become known by most serious sellers I see on Mercari (either by selling graded cards themselves, or mentioning PSA in their item descriptions), but whether many Japanese are actually collecting PSA cards I’m not sure.
So it is not an actually grading facility in Japan. Just a “send to office” in Japan. I was thinking to submit in Japan , but if they are just sending them to USA . Meh.
Thanks for the info. Strange that the East coast will be the Pokemon Grading location; Like 1/2 way around the world from Japan.
All submissions to the Japan office are now graded in Japan. It’s just that’s a relatively new development… took them a while (5 years!) to get set up
