Although I primarily make this because I had a few questions myself, I figured I’d make one general thread. The purpose of this thread is to post anything and everything about non-TCG cards and stickers that might help identify their producer and perhaps other information you’d want to know.

I will also include cards I already know the producers and information about for completeness sake, and to perhaps help others who come across this thread in the future. I will add useful links where applicable.

**NOTES:**1. The information and pictures are currently work-in-progress. I plan on adding dimensions of each card I own later on, as well as some more generation information instead of just the links, like the producer and release month and/or year. I will also add a placeholder comment below this post for all cards/stickers that have yet to be identified.
2. I know we also have a non-TCG appreciation thread, but the purpose of this thread is mostly to identify non-TCG cards instead.

ANA Golden Boarding Pass:

As far as I’m aware there were three different versions: Flying Pikachu, Mewtwo, and Mew. These boarding passes were given out as a present when you’ve flied with ANA (All Nippon Airways), the Japanese airline, back in 1997 and during a limited campaign. Each boarding pass has a different serial number at the top. There is a place on the back to fill in your name, address, phone number, and blood type. Although all writing is in Japanese, it mentions the height, weight, etc. of the Pokémon jet on the front. (Source for this information: a past auction.)

From the couple of Funskool cards I’ve seen I have noticed they look very similar to the Topps cards apart from your magneton needs a service as its missing a bolt :stuck_out_tongue:

Not sure tbh. I plan on adding dimensions to each card/sticker, as well as all non-Japanese text (i.e. copyright) I see on the cards when I have a bit more time. I figured people just post pictures and as much information as possible, and someone else could chime in who might know more about it or knows any online sources for that card/sticker in particular.

I’ve added dimensions to all cards/stickers in both top comments (some are very small and some pretty big, but you can’t really see that on individual pictures). I’ve also added all non-Japanese text and other possibly useful information to the second comment.

All cards/stickers in the second comment have yet to be identified. (In case of the ANA Golden Boarding Pass it’s only missing a source, apart from that it’s completely identified.)

I will add the pictures of all cards posted by other members thus far to the second comment later on.
If anyone has any additional information (preferably with online sources) of anything in the second comment, feel free to post it as a comment, so it can perhaps be fully identified and moves to the top comment.

PS: Since I’ve had some people tag and/or PM me: FYI, I barely know anything about non-TCG cards, except what is mentioned in the top comment. Which is primarily the reason I made this thread, so we can have one central place for all non-TCG Pokémon cards/stickers and identify more and more of them. As you can see in the second comment, there are a lot of cards/stickers I own which I don’t know anything about yet.

Not sure if this counts, but Funskool also apparently produced a non-TCG card set (in addition to the unlicensed TCG cards) called the ‘Who Am I? Series’.

These seem more in line with the rest of the cards listed here (and incidentally may well have been the only legitimate cards Funskool produced/were licensed to produce).

Unfortunately and unsurprisingly I dont have much in the way of sources, but there are several cards and packs listed on eBay at time of writing, including a Pikachu card…

Could borrow the photos from those listings if that helps.

Ah yeah, I’m indeed aware of them. I think those were the second set of cards Funskool produced. I’ve seen a few of them before, including Charizard and Pikachu. If the Pikachu on eBay wasn’t so damn expensive I would have bought it. I’ll add pictures of them to the Funskool section later on, so thanks for the suggestion. :blush:

I’ve been searching for these two types of cards for awhile now and I really can’t seem to find anything on ebay(besides what I’ve already purchased) or yahoo Japan

To my knowledge they are all from this The Pokémon Weekly box which, as far as I’m aware, gives 28 cards at random.
Here’s one I opened a few weeks back:

Here are the contents:

There are 4 diffferent types of card.

Regular cards which aren’t very fancy:

“-2” versions of cards which have a holofoil name and a ribbon:

Holofoil versions of the regular cards which have a larger ribbon:

And finally seasonal cards (2 per season) which join to form an extended image:

Some things to note:

  • I don’t know if regular versions of “-2” cards exist;
  • I’m not 100% confident that the holofoil Pichu I have is from this box - it may have been a promotional item (I did not pull my holofoil Pichu, I bought it separately back in 2018);
  • I’m not 100% confident that holofoil versions of any of the other cards exist;
  • I’ve not seen a “-2” version of the Pichu card;
  • I don’t know if there is any variation to the seasonal cards;
  • All the boxes I’v seen appear to have the Eevee card at the front - I don’t know how random the boxes are.

I hope that provides some information, albeit possibly not hugely useful.

Edit: Doing some searching on Google for “ポケモンウィークリー カード” (The Pokémon Weekly cards) I can now say that:

  • There are holofoil versions (double ribbon) of other cards in the set (image);
  • There are holofoil name versions (single ribbon) of cards which aren’t the “-2” variant (image);
  • The image I shared for the previous point also proves that single ribbon versions do exist for regular cards (as I have that News No. 21 card without the ribbon) and it also shows that they go up to at least 54 rather than 52.

I am now very curious whether a single ribbon version of the Pichu exists.
