I’ve postponed this thread for years but it’s about time I make it 
Hi, my name is Dominic, based in France, but born in the UK (moved here when I was 7 years old). Born three days before the release of Pokemon Green in Japan (you can guess the date and my age 
)
I’ve started dabbling with the Pokemon games since I was 3 years old and I was always attracted to Pokemon cards, but never really had the chance to get any (unless I was trading my food for them aha).
When I got to Uni in 2014, I finally had a bit of money for myself, so of course I looked up Pokemon cards online by curiosity, I fell into the nostalgia trap, I had bought the non-holo dark Charizard from team Rocket.
Then it was all out, it was right before the 2016 boom and I was hooked, luckily my small student budget was ok for a while as cards were very cheap. So I started buying a lot of bundles hoping to collect the vintage sets regardless of languages and completed at first some sets in English and French.
Later in 2015, I realized my favorite Pokemon was Nidoking, as I was mesmerized by the Crystal Nidoking from Aquapolis I had gotten randomly in a bundle from Ebay. From there, I started getting anything Nidoking I could get my hands on (including Nidorino and Nidoran). I was studying languages and translation, so I also started collecting all of their cards in all the languages and editions.
As years flew by, I managed to fill my collection and complete a lot of sets and also replace conditions.
By 2019 I had finished most WOTC sets and at least half of the Ex era sets. I also got deeper into vintage japanese stuff from my Nidoking collection but stuff was getting too expensive for my student budget. I had to sell all the non-nidoking stuff I got in bundles just to afford everything else.
I got my masters degree and my first job right before Covid hit, and finally I was able to afford a bit more as prices were inflating fast ! by end 2020 I had nearly finished all ex era sets and was diving deep into stickers and other oddities.
I realized during covid that collecting TCG, i didn’t like it anymore, that I was racing against the inflating prices and not collecting at cruising speed or enjoying it. I found way more joy discovering the huge hidden side to the non-tcg Japanese iceberg. Starting 2022 I’ve decided to sell my entire TCG collection, and as of now I’ve sold all my DP to BW sets, and everything from base set to Skyridge. No regrets because at the same time, I’ve been documenting and obsessing over stickers, postcards, coins, and various pokemon center vintage sets.

Throughout the years I’ve managed to build friendships with Pokemon collecting, and gained confidence as a person because I don’t feel like an outcast anymore (especially since Pokemon is mainstram now), I’m really grateful for that.

- I’ve had a few figures from my collection shown during a Pokemon /Yu-gi-oh / Magic exposition December 2022 to august 2023 in the “Musée de la carte à jouer” near paris.
Soon in 2026 more items will be part of another museum exposition
- I created the pokemonstickerpedia website in April 2022: what motivated me at first to create the website were 3 things: I wanted the information to be free of access for anyone, I love the creative process of building websites and designing stuff, and lastly, I’ve considered multiple times that in the next few years I’ll stop collecting or press the brakes sooner or later, so I wanted to give back to the community.
–> this website will not stop at stickers only, once I’m done it will contain information about anything non-tcg, and open to the idea of collaborating with other websites/people
