JOHTOOOOO
That was very cute as I lay sick in bed.
A lot of these shorts are really well done.
…I want Chorobi merch haha
Hola,
Does anyone know what is happening in this card? Obviously its water and fire and maybe electric or ground? Is it referencing specific lore? I think it could be creation, but I thought Arceus only made Pokemon not matter.
I might guess a reference to Godai.
That makes sense. The only thing I’m still unclear about is the gold stripes in the ground. Gold, electricity. Anybodys guess.
I’m here to maybe revive your search?
Keep an eye out on mercari, even the rarest volumes show up once in awhile! If you have a Buyee account you can save the search for results on ポケモンえほん. I built my collection solely through this approach
I’m not Japanese or all that familiar with Japanese Buddhism, but 地 Chi (Earth) can be depicted in yellow. I’m not sure that you’ll find a clear reason unless you spoke to the artist.
Hiroshima Pokemon Center re-opening mid-April after relocating to a different floor. Along with some new merch and a new statue of Gyarados & Pikachu/Magikarp
this better be a new postcard too
Pokemon Center: Best I can do is “A4 clear files”…
Here is their site.
The glass and bottle opener might interest some folks here
Currently I am collecting a lot of early Gen 3 sets. I feel those are kinda underrated and overlooked compared to later Gen 3 sets (the PCG / Gold Star era). I am especially focusing on Rulers of the Heavens (EX Dragon) and ADV Expansion Pack (EX Ruby & Sapphire). Those have such great artworks in them and I love to share a selection of my favorites:
And here some of my favorites from ADV Expansion Pack (second post because I couldn’t upload more than 10 pictures in one, hope thats okay):
Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years passed and my brother and I discovered the new Avatar, an airbender named Aang. And although his airbending skills are great, he has a lot to learn before he’s ready to save anyone. But I believe Aang can save the world.
Also, no one talks about the art of textured cards. But it IS art.
It’s not just about adding textures, but using the textures to enhance the illustrations, IMO. Check out this Phantom Forces AZ, which I’d never bothered with, but now am Super Stoked to have! XY full arts had a different approach to the “sculpting” and it really shows compared to the mostly rando patterns now.
There’s sunlight beaming down on him. The hat has a knitted pattern. His hair. His scarf has threads and weaves. All details that don’t show in the illustration itself.
