Zard is hideous
I also really hate that Charizard. If only it were the SAR.
Lol I think the Zard looks pretty good
Unusual aesthetic choice to point out, the shiny tera Pokémon ex official image appears to lack the glittery effects found on all versions of tera cards in regular sets (including regular ex)
God dammit, are we gonna do this every gen? You’d think with how much pokemon has stepped it up lately with card arts, they would have moved away from shiny pokemon with no background cards, especially given how shiny star v wasn’t nearly as well received as ultra shiny gx. I really thought we were gonna get shiny alt arts and art rares.
Yeah, let’s move on to Cyber Judge and Wild Force.
Not even sure why they bother getting the artists to do baby shinies when they neutralize their style. What a waste, just get 5ban to do everything. It’s all shit anyway.
Someone can probably toss all this year’s FAs into Photoshop and we’ll have all the “chase” cards revealed.
Ohhhhh boooyyyyy
We have been so spoiled with Pokemon always raising the bar on set artwork that I can see this set not being well received and a set back for the high-class sets.
But I mean, when you knock it out of the park like Vstar Universe, how can you come out with any set that meets or looks better than Vstar?
Everything else by default looks like a set down.
I can’t wait till pokemon comes out with those glass replicas of the tera-forms of pokemon so I can have a ruby Charizard hanging from my rear view mirror.
Took the words right out of my mouth. They really could have done something special and mixed up the Shiny Vault formula by introducing shiny alt arts. These shiny Pokemon with no backgrounds have always been boring to me and a third set of them doing this is just so lame.
But why are they seriously making again shiny cards of the same pokemon than earlier, zard is a mandatory evil that gets included but why again lines like scizor and gardevoir? It’s obvious there’s a bunch of gen 9 shinys but why do they have to repeat those other gen ones, those lines can’t be that popular that they are a must to include
Hmm. Not sure how I feel but I am excited at the prospect of AR/IR shinies
Wonder how annoying it’s going to be to get a single box for less than 200% markup. I just wanna rip a high class set while the christmas tree is still up ![]()
Most of the time it’s due to the cards being playable, so they’re made as a rarity bump option for people to use in decks. They’re not strictly just thinking about which Pokemon are the most popular to make a shiny of.
man they are really beating shinies into the ground. as a recovered full odds shiny hunter, i actually find this upsetting. the idea of alt art shinies sounds cool, but based on what i am seeing, it looks like we’re getting more shiny pokemon yeating through the silver void. im also so sick of seeing shiny charizard. pls god at least give me hoenn or johto starters ffs
Apparently s&v muk is playable according to tpci since it was included in play! series 3 (
) so obviously it’s finally shiny slime’s time to shine then!
some pokemon i’m looking forward to/hoping to see as baby shinies:
umbreon & espeon (purchase promos for OBF)
ttar line (had an AR)
mewtwo & the dnite line from 151
scizor (already on the pack art)
palafin (had a prerelease promo)
kingambit & annihilape (cool new mons that evolve from old mons)
houndoom line (houndour had an AR)
unfortunately there are quite a few from paradox rift (surf, flash, and roar) that i’m skeptical will be included in this based on past high class sets not featuring anything from that year’s last few sets like the paradox mons, baby shinies of the treasures of ruin, groudon, yveltal, zacian, zekrom, deoxys (from the mewtwo deck), absol, milotic, latios, etc…
as for the full arts, i couldn’t care less about recolored full arts. if they were redrawn by non-cgi artists like the baby shines are, i’d be more excited for them.
final thoughts is that i’m excited to see what they do for the URs. in SSV, they had the black and gold eternatus, zacian, and zamazenta. for VMC, they had black and gold as well, except included more mons. for VSU, they had the special art URs.
if it’s just black and gold recolorations of the full arts, i will be disappointed, but not surprised. what i’m coping on is that they will do special arts like they did in VSU, except as shinies. the idea of shiny koraidon and miraidon ex special art gold cards sounds amazing. however, i’m not optimistic.
I’m actually really interested in seeing what older pokemon get a shiny this time, even if its just a baby shiny. My favorite cards from shining fates were the suicune and lapras, I really didn’t care too much for all the galar pokemon or charizard.
The problem with these sets that feature a bunch of shiny versions of brand new pokemon is no one really has any attachment to these pokemon yet to even be that familiar with the regular versions, so the shiny versions don’t really stand out. I was heavy into shining fates but wasn’t too familiar with all of the galar pokemon yet so the shiny versions I saw from shining fates seem like the normal versions to me since I saw them more than their actual regular versions. Like for example the regular version of grimmsnarl looks odd to me because I’m used to the silver shiny version and now to me grimmsnarl is supposed to be silver.
Seeing a purple lapras or blue ditto is much more “shocking” or interesting than seeing a slightly different color version of a brand new pokemon that just came out a few months ago.
Let the new pokemon grow on people a little before rushing out shiny versions and they’ll be much more appreciated when they finally come out.
Maybe it’s an unpopular opinion, but I think shiny sets are boring and lazy.
No shiny SARs?

bars
Another shiny set whit boring arts, we want SAR (and i want a new mew shiny too)
As a player, I’m actually really excited about these. The Sprigatito is the good playable one, same with the Floragato, and I’m excited to see what other playables they’ll be printing. I’m one that likes to high-rarity decks I’m fond of, and this looks like it’ll be a fun set to get to do that with cards that haven’t had foil treatment before.
The little gold stars just look so good, and if it’s anything like the texture on previous shiny sets, this is super exciting!
