Ive been complaining about lackluster secret/ultra rares in set. Little did I realize having very few knockout cards in sets was a savings grace for my wallet because this set is going to destroy my wallet

Finally a steel type CHR
. In an alternate universe that would have been a Jasmine + Magnezone card. I like the art of the Bronzong card, vaguely reminds me of Professor Layton. Based on the card numbers there appears to be two (regular) steels after Bronzong. I’m gonna guess some combination of Steven and Metagross, Rose and Copperajah or Peony and Aggron.

Damn good looking cards, especially that bronzong, but i still have the same problem with all other modern cards. There’s just so much cool looking cards that at least for me it’s impossible to focus on anything, if i plan on getting something i get a feeling that since i’ll get this card i should get that and that too. So if i get one of these i have a feeling that i should get a bunch of other cool looking ones from the set too since i already have one, and when i have enough of them i get a feeling i should get all of them. And if i get all of them pokemon releases another set with them and i want those too then. But i’m glad a lot of ppl here are excited of them so i’ll probably see full collections of these and can live through their threads and posts

Damn this set is fire
What are we thinking will be the hot character cards on day one from this set from what we know so far? Excluding any potential SRs and alt arts that is. Pikachu? Eevee and Zekrom? Dream League was really affordable so I hope this is the same.
The hot character cards are going to be anything with someone’s “waifu” character on it.
I think the big ones are gonna Kingdra and Zekrom personally. Flaffy’s gonna be a fast seller since it’s got a good ability to use.

This set is killing it. The character full arts combine people who love
- fa trainers
- hand drawn art style
- full art cards
You only need to like 1/2 the card (i.e. the character OR the pokemon) to really enjoy a card. If you like both the character AND the pokemon then you almost feel obligated to buy the card in question.

As long as they are in the reverse slot, then they should be affordable - however we know that 40 of them are CSRs.
So either they just make the CSRs rarer in the same slot and it’ll be something like Shining Fates or they lump them in the rare slot and it’ll be like Evolving Skies with its masses of secret rares.
Even when Pokemon had a good thing - original CHR - they double down on their scummy practices in the follow up.
Then again, the Japanese might have god packs and guaranteed holos etc. to offset this, whereas International DGAF.
And there’s no reason for TPCi to change when they keep selling out all their cards.
I should’ve clarified I was talking more the Japanese release rather than the dog’s dinner that is English.
Charizard has been revealed as a CHR. It’s bound to get a CSR VMAX, if not V & VMAX.
Imagine, Charizard V, VSTAR, FA V, AA V, RR VSTAR, AA VSTAR, CHR, CSR V and CSR VMAX in Brilliant Stars.
9 cards for 1 Pokemon in 1 set.
