There’s a lot of different kinds of energy in the collecting space today: positive, negative, upset, excited, water, you name it.
Going with that theme, I will post an energy type, and you post your favorite card of that energy type. Feel free to include why you enjoy the card! The post with the most likes after an appropriate amount of time will win bragging rights and hopefully a badge.
Limit your entries to one card per post, and three posts per person max. Please write out the card and set name in text in addition to the image posted for posterity in case images break.

Love seeing Jolteon in a relaxed setting guarding smaller Pokemon under a starry night sky, Electric types are quick and fast but seeing it in this setting shows a different side to it. This and Dark Jolteon are easily the best cards Jolteon had ever had IMO and I look forward to the day one captures my sensibilities even more than the Light and Dark ones…. if an artist can manage it
Dark Jolteon. As a kid the Team Rocket set always stuck out to me. Jolteon’s art especially. This was my first card getting back into Pokemon about 6 years ago
I never got to experience ex era when it came out but looking back on all the ex cards, this ampharos stands out to me. The radial effect of the light is so cool and I bet the card really pops in hand.
@ascendedbidoof already did light jolteon, one of the first cards I remember really noticing and liking. Light pokemon are to this day some of my all time favorites. So I’ll give another card I like to keep it fresh.
I am trying not to just gush over Mitsuhiro Arita in every one of these threads, but this one is very unique and I’m a big fan of mareep, flaaffy and ampharos.
EDIT: @Silphnaut not bidoof, im actually blind. Bidoof chose evil jolteon though. The duality of jolteon. Still very good choices.
That was Silphnaut that mentioned Light Jolteon, I mentioned Dark Jolteon haha. Light and Dark Pokemon were such fun concepts. I’m glad they brought it back for a few cards during the 25th anniversary
Although it’s not my absolute favorite Pikachu artwork, I’ll go with the 25th anniversary Pikachu V-Union. It’s so cool to have 25 different illustrators on a single artwork. All 25 illustrators also told a little bit about their Pikachu and how they feel about the anniversary, which was posted on the Pokémon website at the time. @pfm made a great summary of those in this thread.
