Pokemon World Championships! - Excitement Inside

There’s a fair shot I’ll be making it out there.

Did people bring good stuff to sell? Like old booster boxes etc?

I might be able to make it. This year was really fun, but who knows if I’ll be able to scrounge up the money to make a trip to San Fran.

Ah, thanks - that’s all I’d be interested in. Doubt I’ll bother even if I am in the states!

For those who wanted more photos, here are some images of us exploring the “freedom trail”. It is apparently only 3 miles, but we walked at least 5-8. It was pretty memorable, and an overload of history and freedom!

The line of red brick on the ground is the actual freedom trail. It winds around the city of Boston. While following the trail you regretfully think at least once to yourself, “follow the yellow brick road”.

too bad I missed seeing you Scott :stuck_out_tongue:. always next year. this year the trading was somewhat lackluster in terms of older stuff. someone was selling sealed legendary collection theme decks thats about it. another duo had like sealed neo theme decks and a base set 2 starter deck. everything was pretty recent. There was one korean couple trading and selling Korean full arts and what not and I missed my chance to get that pikachu/gyarados special box for a good price but oh wells.

Yes, there was not enough time this year and I had way too much going on. I wanted to meet and spend more time with everyone but had so many things going on at once.

The open play room, or I guess rooms were lack luster for sure. The venue for open play was the worst compared to previous tournaments. For people who were not there, typically the OP room is a massive ball room that is usually within walking distance in the hotel where the competitors are staying. This year it was on the 5th floor, in multiple smaller classroom size rooms.

I agree as well, blue is always more appealing x

besides that this year seemed very idk different than last years world championship. the whole venue was different considering the main stuff was upstairs with the Pokken Tournament demo, while downstairs we had the retail store which was bigger than last years and that was a plus. but the side events and the fact they kept on moving people back and forth was a bit annoying after awhile. the boston open was a big turnout for both vgc and tcg. the open play room besides the fact it was in 5 smaller condense rooms was pretty bleh this year. pretty much no one was there till like around 6pm and on to trade till like 2-5 am really.

Oh yeah! I have a photo from the Sheraton Open Play rooms. Should give an idea.

@funmonkey54 is in the reddish plaid. @reinasierpe is the one in the pokemon shirt from the tournament, which everyone should get, they were quality this year. Those girls posing next to the sign we found on the trail.
