I saw this at first and was like, these starters are solid! I lived in that fantasy for a few minutes until I watched the official trailer.

Probably a good thing they weren’t real considering the recent Nipah virus outbreak, which originated from fruit bats → pigs in Malaysia

Didn’t the SV teaser have atleast a few Pokémon revealed alongside the starters? Seems like revealing only the starters was a limited tease

Do you mean revealing some new Pokemon? I thought I saw several old pokemon in the trailer so just wanted to understand better.
Starters are cute, but we all know they are going to be dogshit by the time the evolve. I’ve given up on liking starter Pokemon

Yeah I’m not terribly impressed with the starters. They don’t like unique or detailed.
It’s like, blob with eyes, blob with eyes, eyes with a mouth.
Also I’m for sure picking Pombon, but I’m so worried that we’re gonna get an Incineroar problem.
And I’m with @Littu, it’s crazy that they went with another water lizard.

I was disappointed that we saw all those other pokemon too, I thought it might be a “reset” with like a whole new pokedex, but maybe it could still be that way with a national dex post game

No it was just old Pokemon like Larvitar, Magnemite and Seviper.
Wow I don’t know why but I really like all three of the new starters but my favourite is Browt. So cute!
It’s the first generation since a long time that I’d like to pick all three starters.

They’re going to have to do a lot to win me back after the many betrayals since sword and shield. However the opening trailer at least didn’t look like a nintendo 64 game.
And my first reaction to the starters is that they feel like the beta gold/silver pokemon. Just very underdeveloped blobs.
Win me over pokemon company. You don’t have to, you are making hand over fist by not trying. And the less you try it seems the more money you make. But I’m just asking as a favor. You’ll gain nothing in money. You may in fact, lose money. But please try. Please. Get talent in. Pay them well. Give them time. Don’t become FIFA/COD any more than you already have.
That said, I didn’t immediately feel disappointment which is already positive.
