Pokémon Winds & Pokémon Waves (2027)

Pokémon WiWa :police_car_light:, let’s go.

I’m looking forward to the evolutions of these starters (and the rest of gen 10 of course). Let’s hope they won’t start walking one two legs again (except for BROWT, since it also is on two legs as a bird).
But I guess we’ll get leaks of those around October and they’ll release gen 10 in November.

Starters kinda look like Fakemon lol especially the fire one. The gecko and brows are decent I suppose. It’s hard for me to feel excited for a new Pokemon game these days but that trailer looked pretty decent so I’m cautiously optimistic

Do we know what region this is based off?

The huts on the water village reminded me of the Maldives, but I feel like that would end up feeling very similar to Alola.

Could be wrong but I believe it’s Indonesia? Or maybe just all of SE Asia?

These characters are for Pokémon Champions, only the protagonists for Winds & Waves were revealed

Thanks for the correction! I’ve deleted my post to reduce confusion.

Why does 2D always feel better.. The fire ones look much better here than in 3D.

I don’t think they will keep water starter on 4 legs . I am seeing a lot of sobble copy in it. With that said, I really don’t want fire starter to turn 2- legged. I don’t want one more incineroar kinda nightmare.

Paldea atleast made feucoco line good. Hoping the middle and final evos impress, I am kinda disappointed with the base forms

IGN: That is… a lot of water

Love Pokémon’s reaction as well. :joy: I never played any of the Pokémon games, but ‘7.8/10 too much water’ has become a Pokémon & IGN meme that even I know.

See the New Trailer for Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 - Pokémon.com

The new Pokémon Presents revealed an exciting trailer for Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, upcoming entries in the Pokémon video game series. Developed by GAME FREAK exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2, these new titles feature an open world to explore, with beautiful windswept islands and a vast ocean with glittering waves. The Pokémon that live in harmony with this region’s lush environment have developed their own unique ecosystems. During this adventure, you’ll team up with all kinds of Pokémon to overcome both the difficult road ahead and even the forces of nature that block your path at times.

Your main character will sport a different outfit depending on which version of the game you play—and of course, you’ll set out with one of three first partner Pokémon. Will you choose a Grass type by partnering with Browt, the lively but clumsy Bean Chick Pokémon? Or perhaps you’ll heat things up with a Fire type by picking Pombon, the guileless and friendly Puppy Pokémon. If Water types are more your speed, then the intelligent Water Gecko Pokémon, Gecqua, might be the partner for you.

The trailer also showed off a pair of special Pikachu with a brand-new look. We’ll have to wait a bit longer to learn how Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu will be involved in the adventure.

Additionally, it was announced that beginning with Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, Brazilian Portuguese will officially be supported as a language players can choose. Now, even more fans around the world will be able to play this new adventure in their native language!

Look for the global simultaneous release of Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves in 2027. And keep checking Pokemon.com for more information on Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves.

I’m excited. The game looks beautiful. I might have to buy a switch 2 for this. Not a big fan of the starters designs so far but you can aways swap them out

Game looks cool, starters gotta be AI generated dawg they look terrible.

Excited and will definitely get this on release.

Team Gecqua!

it has some long eyelashes. The purple in its eyes adds some nice contrast

Just got a moment to actually watch the trailer again and it feels like GF really know they have to deliver the large world and dense environments that people have been dying for in a Pokemon game. I hope they do not let us down because I’m genuinely excited to play this after having no interest in ZA.

Given this will be Switch 2 only means Game Freak can (sort of) go all out

The starters look TERRIBLE. Genuinely wasn’t sure if I was reading the post from a fake account when I saw them they look like they were designed by a 5 year old. There’s still hope for the later evos of course so we hold onto that for now.

For what it’s worth, one of the earlier leaks claimed that some areas would be procedurally generated. So it’s not out of the realm of possibility this could extend to Pokemon designs too.

Take this with a grain of salt, of course.
