Pokémon Switch

That’s just a Japanese transliteration for “Alola” pokemon. So they’ll be some alolan forms apparently.

Yeah Im not sure whats wrong with this. I think it looks great and cant wait! very clever to integrate the use of pokemon go into the game, pretty amazing if you can sit at home and play it then transfer a pokemon to pokemon go and go out into the real world to battle it or vice versa catch a pokemon and bring it home to play in the switch game. two player mode will be interesting but could be amazing to involve your family etc with. the graphics look good for early a early dev game. this is a really exciting time for the hobby and will be a great and successful title reminds me of when pokemon blue and red came out its the first release on a new platform, just like red and blue was simple when it started look where they have come today! if this is a indication of where it is headed specially for the RPG they are working on im super excited

Honestly I was scared when I woke up this morning and saw Pokemon posting a photo of Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee and noticed the graphics were like from Pokemon Go. But then I went to PokeBeach to read more and it was a huge relief to know that this is just kind of a “spin-off” game and a main series game is coming out in 2019. Then I watched the trailer and honestly, this isn’t even bad now that we have all the necessary information about it. It’s funny how small details can change your view on things. I might even get a Switch and buy it, we will see.

I had my hopes up for something in the vein of Colosseum or XD but instead we get Pokemon GO without the exercise. Whatever, last main game I played was XY, Pokemon games have been dead for a while to me.

Lol all the hatin’ on this and we’ve had 3 minutes of a trailer to go by :joy:

I preordered both games and the ball and am super excited to have a casual style game coming.

Pokémon Go might be awesome for people in larger cities, but my experience was totally shit because of the lack of stops and Pokémon available even with a decent sized walk.

I can’t wait to play these! Especially keen to use the Pokéball Acc.

I’m a Pokémon traditionalist but I still plan to buy Let’s Go! and a Switch. It’ll be awesome!

I’m hoping they have a Pokémon themed switch! If they do I’ll buy Two. One to play games on, one to keep sealed!

I watched the trailer. I’m not interested. Looks like the wait for an open world pokemon game continues. It’s only been a 20 year wait. Maybe after another 20 years they’ll get around to it.

My Wii U purchase coming back to haunt me HARD. Seems to selll suprisingly well on eBay, however. Will sell and buy a Switch when this game comes out. I imagine there’ll be a Pokémon special edition?

Well, I guess I will buy this game. I opened Pokemon Go today after almost a year without playing it thinking about transferring some Pokemon to the Let’s Go game

General public consensus seems to be receiving this announcement really well. Because of the immense range of appeal for this, I have a feeling this may be one of the best selling Switch games so far. I think it will likely surpass BoTW in sales very quickly.

I’m also betting on this one hitting big; it’s purely gen1 again (based on Pokémon yellow?) + people who only played pogo for about a year or less (guessing millions?) are gonna pick up the game again since they can finally transfer/trade and battle with the Pokémon they ‘caught’ with pogo. Either way the nostalgia factor on this game is probably off the charts…

Does anyone here know how to buy some shares in the PTCG/Nintendo company?

Walk into a local Charles Schwab, Edward Jones, or Fidelity office with a checkbook and tell them you want to open a Self-directed Brokerage account. That will give you access to any publically traded investment product. There are other ways, but I recommend this method if you have little to no investing experience.

In my opinion, these games are Pokemon Go for the Switch. Pokemon Go started with Kanto Pokemon only which is exactly what is happening with these games. These games being on the Switch means that GameFreak/Nintendo can add a DLC pack for $20 bucks and add on Johto and other regions if they wanted to.

GameFreak and Nintendo wanted to make sure a new game would release this year on the Switch, meanwhile the “main” Pokemon game is releasing next year. This is both a hold over and a Pokemon Go kind of game for those who don’t want to go outside to play a video game… aka me, so I’m pretty excited for these.

This is the first side game to incorporate a mainline storyline and setting, which is great, but I don’t like the PoGo mechanics at all. Just imagine if they dropped the PoGo mechanics and it was just a straight remaster of r/b/y… As long as PoGo mechanics and style stay out of the core RPG’s I’m fine with it.

I’m bit disappointed after reading this. Obviously there is still some time until the release to fix some problems… www.pokebeach.com/2018/06/lets-go-pikachu-eevee-demo-impressions

It makes sense to have Pikachu and Eevee versions, given that they were the opposing starters in Yellow version. But I imagine that Eevee version will be substantially more popular due to Eevee’s (evolutions) significantly greater variety and viability in battle, unless there is some other perk to Pikachu in these games.

Your starter can not evolve in these games. If you pick Let’s Go Eevee then you will have an Eevee until the end of the game, same with Pikachu.

Oh; that’s interesting. Was that the case in Pokemon Yellow? I seem to remember your rival’s Eevee being able to evolve in that game.
