No one knows yet! I think they are experiments done by the Aether organization who is secretly evil! At least thats my guess.

The official Japanese site revealed UB02 Absorption (Expansion was the previous translation) and UB02 Beauty.
No other new information was posted nor was there a trailer despite many people assuming there would be. Rockruff’s evolution was also not officially revealed.

I really like it actually. We need more sinister Pokemon and this thing is a damn werewolf. I wish the types were different, would be great to see Rock/Fire for the Midday form and Rock/Dark or Rock/Ice for the Midnight form. Totally buying Moon and having midnight Lycanroc on my team.
I’m unimpressed by the monkeys and the new Pikachu/Eevee Z moves. I wish they revealed more in this trailer, where are the starter evolutions/more Alolan formes/Marshadow/mega evolution information? The game comes out in just under 2 months.

I am a through and through Water starter person, the only time I have ever deviated was Gen 5 for Emboar and I still went back and did a Samurott play through cause I liked it as well. But after having my loyalty tested with the original Water Starter reveal for Gen 7 and now seeing the Stage 1…

I really liked the evolutions for Rowlet and Litten, I still can’t choose between those two. The final evolution will make me do the choice. Poplio’s evolution though… this little guy will continue having bad time with popularity. Poor Poplio 
I hope the final evolution will save him as that’s what matters
