Haha I KNEW this was the part you were going to respond to. I was going to tag you but I figured you would just find it on your own lol.
Seriously thoughā¦if that ability is what it sounds like, no way this thing is allowed in competitive play.
Yeah, bonkers mad crazy all the adjectives, quite possibly the most broken tech since Moody. Sounds fun though!
Ok, Iāve had some time to process this now. New Spider and Beetle, Dunsparce evolution, underwater Diglett are all epic (that last one only if we get Dugtrio in the DLCā¦) A Bisharp evolution?! What kind of crazy Uber is this going to be?
But, perhaps the coolest thing I seeā¦Poison/Steel! Finally!!!
Shed Tail, Mirror Herbā¦wtf?? Everything is going to be on steroids this gen, which is either very good or very bad. Not sure how I feel about the Terastallizing yet.
Not a huge fan of the look of terastallizing, but I really love the mechanic. Seeing Tyranitar completely immune to a 4X effective move was great.
Definitely. Not a huge fan of the look either though it certainly looks much better than dynamaxing.
Iām getting bad Z-move vibes from the mechanic, but Iāll reserve judgment until I see it in action.
Some are speculating that Cyclizar could be the pre-evolution of both Koraidon and Miraidon, and theyāre probably right. Remember: the leaked Pokedex showed a āmotorbikeā Pokemon listed before the two legendaries, and Cyclizar can be mounted to traverse the region. So thatās probably him. I actually like its design a lot.
Interesting, my immediate thought was that it looks like a pre-evolution of Miraidon.
Makes sense especially considering the future and past paradox form leaks.
Edit: Here are some screenshots that nearly confirm it
been waiting so long for an aye aye pokemon
Iām even more curious now about how the legendaries will be introduced or worked in, and I agree with others when they speculate that Cyclizar might be a pre-evolution of sorts. But itās fun speculating how things will go in the game. Like everyone uses and knows about Cyclizar, I doubt itās a simple evolution, since Iām sure the story isnāt: everyone has this lizard but when you, the main character, come into the picture, suddenly it strangely evolves. No one else in the region have Koraidon or Miraidon Iām guessing.
So maybe the story will involve the cave woman Professor being able to activate or ressurect the old evolution for Cyclizar to change into Koraidon, or the high tech Professor is able to activate or create a new evolution that will be Miraidon. I bet you could spin that idea into āthe professors are evilā theory, but I donāt think thatās happening. Still, we donāt have a clue about the evil team yet or conflict for the gameās story. Is that odd? I canāt recall if they normally show the evil team before hand or not, I feel like they did with Team Skull, Marnie and Team Yell, but I could be wrong. ANYWAY! Super pumped for the games, cool to see that Cyclizar has brought a lot of attention to itself, and excited to see what happens.
wait Volcarona is in both?
Shit now I have to buy both games.
One of the main leakers for scvi has said that Cyclizar is not a pre-evolution to Koraidon and Miraidon, rather it is the āpresent formā, while Koraidon/Miraidon are the āpast/future formsā of Cyclizar. Cyclizar wonāt evolve into either legendary. Instead, its as if Koraidon is what Cyclizar used to look like years past while Miraidon is what Cyclizar will look like in the future. I assume that the story will have some sort of explanation for why the player has a past/future form of Cyclizar. The main website for SCVI states that Cyclizar is quite common and used by lots of people.
Explained a bit more in depth behind the spoilers:
Leaks so obviously take with a grain of salt.
The past/future forms apparently tie into the story of the games somehow. These past/future forms are being called āparadox formsā by leakers (dunno if thats the official name yet). There are supposedly only a handful of these forms, exclusive to each game. Future forms would be in Violet while past forms would be in Scarlet. A past form version of a PokĆ©mon would not be an evolution like how it is in Legends Arceus, and a future form wouldnāt either. The paradox PokĆ©mon supposedly have different stats, names, new dex entry, possibly moves, and each has a shared ability. The only connection to existing PokĆ©mon is that the the paradox mon is that specific PokĆ©mon in the past/future.
You wonāt be able to evolve any āpresent formā PokĆ©mon into either past/future forms. This may turn out not to be the case, but PokĆ©mon hasnāt officially said anything about Paradox PokĆ©mon yet, so who knows
An example would be if say Pikachu had a future/past form called Futurechu and Pastchu. While they may look similar to Pikachu in design, neither Futurechu or Pastchu evolve from Pikachu ingame. There is the obvious connection to Pikachu, but there is no way to turn a present tense Pikachu into either form.
So is Ancient Paradox Magneton #1000?
83-86 is most likely the new 580-trio with a fourth member Ć la BW. That or just three of them, if so then most likely 84-86. All share the dark type and theyāre in the right position dex-wise.
Third legendary mono Rock is interesting, probably linked to the crater in the middle Iād say. Also probably linked to or responsible for the Terastallizing phenomenon. I wonder how it factors into the time/paradox concept though, unless they break formula itās going to tango with the Mascots at some point. Fascinating stuff, based on what Iāve seen so far this is the most compelling lore for a few generations.
Based on the concepts, there is also a lot of room for interaction with old legendaries. Celebi, Dialga, Diancie and Necrozma comes to mind.
Crystalize = Wut?
Multi-hit-move amplifier = About freakinā time!
the new items seem impactful. ironically, iād say the one that boosts accuracy on multihit moves is the weakest of the three revealed just because itās limited to only a few moves
And RNG-dependent, just boosted, itās not Skill Link in a bottle and even that wouldnāt be earth-shattering.
thatās true, from a meta-standpoint. But I always felt like those moves were under-powered in order to compensate for the multi-hit aspect, which rarely succeeds. Just nice to give those attacks some love, thatās all. They have been a kind of stepping stone in-game since gen one, but never really paid off.
