Pokemon is replacing single League Promos with "Prize Packs" (POP Series Lite)

The post got taken down right away. We think it was a photoshop scam.

100%. This guy just sounds like someone who wants to be a victim. What a miserable way to live.

thats good, i dont think i could have coped with that being a play promo

Kind of his schtick, trying to take the drama crown from Rattle.

Yeah, I just wanted to share the video so everyone here could go to the source of pokerev’s comment. I feel like the actual content of the video could’ve been summed up in about a paragraph, but was instead stretched out for the sake of a daily upload. TPC stated somewhere that packs must be distributed to players and any league organizer attempting to sell the packs will have their support cut off. It’s ridiculous how some are presumably doing just that, though. And it’s ridiculous how people are justifying spending so much on these play promos.

No, his ‘crime’ is spreading misinformation. For a person so heavily invested in Pokemon cards, he sure spouts off incredible amounts of misinformation on basic things. It’s just irresponsible. Either do some research, or shut up. It can’t be that hard for a person whose job is to create content.

Also, they are giving it out for free for playing so Rev shouldn’t have been allowed to just buy them off. I don’t intend to collect them anyway, but almost every single Poketuber spreads misinformation. I get that it’s their job or that they want this to be their job, but come on.

Initially when Rev’s video dropped, there was a buyout on TCGPlayer of the singles. Since then, there has been a nice resupply of singles available at even lower prices than before. (For the most part)

I think the video brought attention to the fact that the cards are worth something, so people either opened their packs they won at leagues, or started listing more of their singles.

I love to see supply/demand in action.

I mean to be honest, don’t we also like there being rare, quirky cards available for collection? Even if they are expensive. It would be a pretty dull life as a collector if every card was $2 and easily available.

I don’t like having to spend big bucks on each card, but equally part of the fun is finding the bargains, or even just finding the card full stop! Just my take anyway… and I’m sure prices will come down a bit when Series Two releases… just not sure by how much. I expect it will be determined by how many are printed!

Not the price for me yet, but if you are interested, here are some cheaper options compared to what’s on tcgplayer right now.

That is tempting, not gonna lie

I know! Much better pricing vs $250 each.

Hard to say where these are come this summer.

Yeah i know, it’s also why im being reserved about buying them

Tempting. But that still seems stupid expensive for normal artworks. Honestly the worst part about it is the shipping. Hopefully series 2 can bring it down at least just a bit.

The umbreon is gone anyway now lol

I won 3 packs at my loclas today and I couldn’t believe the current prices for almost all the Vs and Vmaxes in Series One.

It’s just stupid at the moment

I’m waiting for prices to go down a bit so I can buy the Pikachu Vmax… Last week there were just two available for 1k and 900 USD. But I see two more for 500 and 450 USD now, so let’s just wait a bit longer for supply vs demand to kick in and hopefully it’ll go down to below 250 (or preferably even lower)…

(I’m also still looking for that pesky League stamped SwSh Pikachu from Worlds 2022. If only I knew it was given at when I was at Worlds myself.)

Worth remembering that all the cards from D Block sets (including Charizard and Pikachu VMAX) will only be in the Series One packs as Series Two is Battle Styles-on.

No more of these ones will be distributed, and at this point most leagues would have given the 180ish packs they received out. Also due to there being 40+ different V/MAXs to pull, it would surprise me to see the Pikachu VMAX under $300 but I’d like to be proven wrong.

Any news on when shops will be getting series 2? All that is documented is February 2023
