Pokemon is replacing single League Promos with "Prize Packs" (POP Series Lite)

They are exactly the same going by the Glaceon V in the screenshot.

The regular V aren’t too bad, it seems the VMAX are harder to pull. I’ve even seen multiple people get two regular V Pokémon in the same pack.

There goes my chance at finding a cheap flaaffy. A sad pikachu emoji would be really handy to have right now. @pfm

He hyped on the set way too much. Made it sound like no one knew about it yet

Flaaffy is also in series 2, so more copies will show up over the next 7 months

Well, the video dropped yesterday, and last night there was a mini buyout of PLAY! Stamped cards on TCGPlayer.

Did we expect anything different? :unamused:

Not at all. 90% of the sales of V and VMAX came on January 16th, the day his video launched. I can’t believe someone bought Espeon VMAX for $225. The alt art is way cheaper than that.

To the average collector, it would seem the sheer lack of cards on the market would indicate an extremely tight supply. Information on the subset as a whole is scarce, only adding to this misperception. If I hadn’t read through this thread, I’d probably think the same way.

That said, people basing their buying decisions off any poketuber is just silly. Lack of understanding/lack of information is normal and excusable, but blindly following is and always will be sad to watch.

100% agree. What the Youtubers won’t tell you is Series 2 will have a lot of the same cards as Series 1, so cards like the Eeveelutions will have more supply available if people just wait until this summer.

I hope this is fake

Well now I’m waiting for a video on Series 2 to hike those prices too… The hard core viewers are probably going to try to flip these once the video drops.

I really hope so. I can’t see them doing this. But also, zooming in on my phone, the area around the PLAY logo looks really suspicious. looks like a photoshop.

I see that now, and the post is already taken down after just 5 minutes. Must be fake

I was wondering if people thought it was fake, I saw this same post on my way home from work, screenshotted it intending to post it here, but couldn’t find the link. It looked off to me, how the logo compared to the card itself.

I want to share this video, mainly because of Pokerev’s reply:

Regret it after all those sweet, sweet clicks. Sure thing Rev…totally see the regret.

This take is so brutal. There’s no logical reason that a player should be entitled to a card more than a collector. Are we going to stop players from buying alt arts because it makes them more expensive for collectors? But alt arts are intended for collectors, players can get a functionally equivalent card with worse art. It’s a bullshit argument.

If you wanted to play with a Charizord V then you can pick up the $10 copy. Or you can get the Drizzile for 43c. The price of each card in this set could be $1000 each and literally not one extra person would be priced out of playing the game if they weren’t before the set came out

The way you acquire these packs is by playing. Literally directly into the hands of players. If you want to call out a league organizer for selling packs instead of handing them out, I get that argument. But literally what is the problem if these are given to players and players choose to sell them? Who is the victim?

PokeRev’s “crime” is exposing an existing product to a larger audience. I get if you wanted to pick these up on the cheap and now they have more exposure it’s not ideal. But again, why should you be entitled to a copy more than anyone else? If someone is willing to pay more for a card than you, what’s the problem? If you knew about these cards before PokeRev’s video and you didn’t pick up a copy then who’s fault is that?

This video is just a weird concern troll. If you actually cared about player’s and affordability, there’s only one party to blame and that’s Pokemon themselves. If they wanted to make their game affordable they could crank the print run on these (I’d be shocked if they didn’t) or literally hand out playable cards for free at events. The secondary market prices are entirely in their hands
