Yeah I didn’t buy a Red’s Pikachu because I wasn’t feeling the art too much… these are DEFINITELY a cop for me though. At least one of these, hopefully all if they’re not too pricey, will be preordered day one. I hope I don’t have to pick just one…

I think I know the answer to this, but is there any way that people outside of Japan can order these from the Pokemon Company?
Idk I find it strange to put a pre-order on auction… but that’s just me… I guess that’s one way to bait the hype

It’s basically a great way to get early profits for some sellers, because if it’s easy to get, they will make a mad amount of money, whereas if they are hard to get they can simply cancel the transaction. The auction makes it so they can pretty much get the maximum amount of money based on the current market conditions, which is unknown to population since supply of the cards have not been determined yet

All of them have such great artwork! TBH Sun and Moon has released some of the best PKMN artwork in the past decade. especially with the Japanese promos

The Pikachu is on eBay for $130 and the others are up for much less. It makes me think they won’t be too difficult to obtain.

The Mimikyu card will be available in just over 12 hours from the time of this post. You’ll be able to buy it from the Japanese Pokémon Center website here: www.pokemoncenter-online.com/?p_cd=4521329246291. It has a markup of 486 JPY (including tax), which is roughly $4.34. They’re limited to 1 per person.
Some of the other cards have already made their way onto eBay for absolutely absurd prices*. Not only are these cards not available yet, this particular Pikachu sold for over 45 times the RRP. If you really want to get your hands on these cards, simply use a proxy service to buy direct from the online Japanese Pokémon Center shop, or wait until they inevitably find their way onto the various Japanese marketplace websites and search for “ポケモン ムンク展”.
As far as I’m aware the cards are being released periodically between now and January. I’m pretty sure most of the current eBay sales are currently in breach of eBay’s presale listings policy, which states that items must be shipped to the buyer within 30 days. Be careful with your money and don’t get scammed.
* Seems that listing no longer exists. That was quick! It was a Pikachu card which had received over 50 bids and sold for something like $195.

This was posted on discord. The Pikachu won’t release until December 10th. For anyone who “preordered” on ebay, those are invalid. All pre-orders are supposed to ship within 30 days of the purchase. This release will go outside of that window.

So far they’ve been steadily selling on Japanese auction sites for between 1,200 and 2,999 JPY (~$10.72 to $26.80) - I can only assume these are from proxy bidders, as they’re still available on the Pokémon Center website for 486 JPY. On eBay they’ve been selling for a low of $30 and a high of $65.88 - both of which were pre-sale prices; post-release there’s been a low of $35 and a high of $58.99. Will be interesting to see how the price changes over the coming week.
