that rayquaza is pretty sexy though

I like it better than the Rainbow rare version, but it’s still 5ban Graphics… so not really my cup of tea. And regarding the pull rates, it’s exactly what most collectors wanted: a real chase card. The price trend might get interesting, perhaps it’ll get even more expensive than the Rainbow GX Zard, despite being still in print. The hype seems to be there already.

  1. 5ban graphics need to stop being a thing.
  2. All they did was go into photoshop and switch up the colors of a previous set and promo card… Seems lazy for such a big company.
I don’t hate it, but what the hell Pokemon? Literally just changing color pallettes and reselling shit and people are getting hyped. Pay your artists to pump out NEW art.
  3. I’m just gonna edit this opinion once more after having a further look at the new card. They couldn’t even be bothered to mix up the hit points and damage this card dishes out. HP 250. Wing attack 70. Crimson Storm 300. Raging Out GX. Weakness 2x water Retreat 2x Colorless. My god. You finally make a chase card that collectors can be hyped about and it’s a regurgitation?

Feels really lazy to be honest, I was expecting shining cards similar to shining legends. My heart sunk a little when I saw it was just a re coloring of cards that are still very new especially when I wasn’t crazy about the previous artwork to begin with. Besides most of shining legends and a handful of other cards I have been unimpressed with Sun and Moon sets so far.
But I still expect this card to be crazy valuable because of the absolutely absurd amount of secret rares coupled with the fact its shiny charizard.

Same, the shiny variant of Charizard looks the best of them. It’s funny how much colors can make a difference. Same goes with the Ray, it’s much better than the normal FA

My thoughts exactly!

This should have been released in normal sets instead of hypers tbh.

Simply inverting the colors of this new card oddly resembles the regular Charizard. Claws and belly are off, but still.
As a lover of the older artwork I’m really not a fan of these more digital renditions let alone the blatant palette swaps.
Do the names Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Reptile, Smoke, Noob Saibot, Ermac, Rain, Chameleon, and Tremor ring a bell?
It’s an enormous loss in creativity and imagination. I don’t want to see the same crappy artwork across a plethora of sets.

But sub-zero and noob saibot are some of my favs :slightly_frowning_face:

The ninja characters are amazing and Noob Saibot is also one of my all-time favorites.
But that’s obviously not because of the lazy palette swaps Mortal Kombat had going on.

This sums it up for me. I remember when Reptile became a bit hype thing because it was Yellow and Blue combined *gasp*. But then they just kept taking the sprite and changing the color and eventually a lot of people were like “wtf”. That’s how I’m feeling about this. Sure, the colors look great. But make it a promo not a friggin “super hyperrare” shining card. A really rare card should be original and unique in my opinion.

My thoughts exactly!!

Although I guess you could argue that they did the same with base set charizard back in the day. Base, Base 2, legendary collection… The difference for me though is I love that hand draw artwork im not overly keen on these 5ban graphics.

garbage

We should start a petition to ban 5ban.

If the card has the word " shining" its going in my collection. But honestly it would’ve been nice to see a newer artwork.
