New shining charizard. Thoughts?

I agree, This is a real disappointment and feels really lazy, would have been fine if it was part of the same set, but this was a wasted opportunity they could have made a really nice unique chase card hear for the set like the hyper rare zard was for burning shadows. Shame :slightly_frowning_face:

I’m happy about it! something to be excited about. THere will be an english version of this card, correct?

100% agree.

Seeing the dark colors of the shiny Charizard collide with that silvery white background is a bit of an eyesore to me. Hopefully the card looks better in person.

Still not a fan of the 5ban artwork, even less of a fan of the rehash. The added sparkles to the illustration make me smile for some weird reason though.

The new artwork feels laughably bland to me. Compare this to base set Dratini or Dragonair…

It’s sick, you all want it shut up already.

Judging by the scan it will not have the shining prefix.

I want this artists job

:sob:

Coloway is interesting, but it reminds me of a fake/custom card.

Until you see the texture.

While I do agree it’s super lazy of them to reuse the exact same card for the third time in a row, in a way I think it looks awesome in a binder/as a display. You get to have 3 variants of the same card but in different rarities, sort of like how you would catch the same pokemon over and over again in the games to get a shiny variant.

I think this would have been a lot cooler if the hyper/rainbow rare didn’t exist already though, as it makes this a bit more underwhelming as a release!

To be fair, at least there might be a kernel of truth. As in this could be the most expensive set card ever, upon release (especially if no English version is hinted at before this comes out). And if there are really 90+ SR, then charizard is 1/90+ boxes and they are $120+ now.

I hate it, but if its shiny, you got me lol. What happens when you have a daughter, maybe it rubs off on you. OOO SHINY, GLITTERY!!

Interesting to see them rolling out on eBay. I wasn’t around for the burning shadows rainbow charizard nor do I collect really anything past skyridge. I’m curious though? Did the hype for the rainbow charizard lead to high initial price > drop and bounce?

Pull Rates seem a bit easier than the Hyper Rare, but then these subsets don’t get reprinted like crazy, I’m just talking out of my butthole but that’s what I’m observing I may be wrong.

What is the pull rate percentage for HR charizard?

From what I have seen it is one SSR (shining gx) per booster box with 10 packs per box. There are 38 shining gx cards in SM8b, so I would assume one charizard per 38 booster boxes on average. Might be even lower if one of the 7 gold cards replaces SSR pulls. Better to just buy the card than hoping to pull it

Not a huge fan of the cg look. Although it’s somewhat charming in earlier sets when the cg was worse. Maybe I’m the strange one.

Its on ebay for 127 Canadian right now
