So with Hidden fates right around the corner, what you will be the price for raw Shiny Zard and for PSA10? Japanese version right now is kinda cheap - ~65-70 for raw and ~160 for psa 10.
It really depends on the pull rates of the Shiny Vault cards.
It would depend on hidden fates pull rates.
Rainbow Rare Charizard had an average pull rate of 1/21 boxes or 1/756 packs (21 Secret rares in set with about one SR per box)
In Ultra Shiny, the odds were about 1.5 Secret Rares per box. With 100 Secret Rares, this created a Charizard pull rate of 1/66 boxes or 1 in 660 packs.
Based on this you would think that the Japanese Ultra Shiny Charizard would be a similar price, but I think that there is just much more demand for the Rainbow variant because the Japanese market is smaller. Because of that I think the Hidden Fates Charizard will be more expensive than the Japanese one, but its resting price would depend on its rarity in relation to the Rainbow Variant. It is also important to know that it will not be available in a booster box so each pack will be more expensive on average.
If you disagree with anything I said let me know!
Will be very high unless there’s an easy way to get packs
Will definitely be around $100 for English on release
Personally, I’m expecting rainbow charizard prices, providing the pull rate is similar.
Shiny zard looks way better in my opinion. It could fetch close or similar prices to rainbow zard.
Will start off sky high from the hype and settle down after a few months. The conversations floating around about the pull rates will make a difference just like the pull rate on the Hyper Reshizard from UBB.
Japanese zard (raw) started at a price point of around 90ish; ungraded. And is now around 70ish; raw.
A PSA10 Copy of Charizard Shiny GX (Japanese) is going for around $150 at this time.
Dont get me wrong, but English cards, most of the time, come with huge factory problems right out of the pack i.e whitening, bad edges, and terrible centering. I’d say a PSA10 Copy of Charizard Shiny Gx (English) might be worth at least double of what the current JP. version is worth.
For ungraded ones, i’d say it might start at a price point of around 200 and probably settle down after a couple days.
In my humble opinion, Ultra Shiny might be one of the best english sets of the modern era, having tons of good cards to hunt, or grade.
English card quality has really jumped in the SM era and also with the reprints of the late XY-era sets. It’s not Japanese, but the number of modern English PSA 10 cards has skyrocketed. It’s also coincided with a massive rise in businesses bulk grading modern product.
Hyper Reshizard has more than double the number of copies in PSA 10 (145) than PSA 9 (62). Compare that to Flashfire where PSA 10 FA Charizard was at pop 2 for MONTHS.
It’s pointless to speculate on price when we don’t know pull rates or product distribution, but if this goes like other sets it will be printed to demand, which will mean printed into oblivion. So even if it is a hard card to pull there will be quite a few copies out there. But Shiny Zard is Shiny Zard, and that’s a moneymaker.
You’re more than right here and probably nailed the entire discussion. Your last sentence is fantastic, shiny zard…is shiny zard, and man…kids (like me…not that young tho) will go crazzzzy for it!
Tbh this card represents what went wrong with SuMo tcg imo. It is so lazy how they put out different variants of the same art just making it shiny so they could profit with minimal effort. They have flogged Charizard far too hard this tcg gen.
I prefer unique art and i feel they missed an opportunity to do something amazing for this card.

This is why I mainly stick to the old cards. I imagine a lot of these $500+ new psa 10 zards will struggle to see any growth over the next 2-3 years. It seems crazy to me that some great PSA 10 20 year old holo’s are cheaper than equivalent new product.
