Is it just me or...? $500

Yeah, I did some research and I was off. Been a little while since I had looked at the prices, but for the purposes of just showing them on camera, it will do.

Appreciate the advise too .

Have just been on the phone to PSA regarding this re-occurring issue… Looks like the packets will be going back to PSA for the 3rd time. Have to wait till tomorrow due to time-zones to get a shipping label. The CS rep that I was originally dealing with has left for the day, but got another CS rep who has forwarded this onto the original rep and management.

All’s I wanted was to have my wonderful packets encap’d to preserve them. I’m no fortune teller but I can see this is going to be a very long process.

Thank you all for your support and comments. It is really helpful!

So I got a message back from the CS that I originally was dealing with…

"Hey Gavin,

I just spoke with the Operations Manager who helped me with this Order and the reholdering of these packs. He said that our head grader already looked at these packs before they went out and he confirmed they still held the Gem Mt 10 condition.

We guarantee our grades will stand and we fully back our grading determination for these packs. If you or any potential buyer disagrees, they can always send it back to PSA for a grade guarantee. You can get more details about this with the following link: www.psacard.com/about/financialguarantee.

If we thought they were not true Gem Mt 10’s, we would have reached out to you and compensated you for the loss of the grade on these packs. The Manager handled this Order himself and I’m confident we checked the condition of the resealed packs before we sent them out. Upon further review, we are still agreeing with our original evaluation that they are 10’s.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Take care,"

I spoke nicely and very cool, calm and collected. The person I was speaking to on the phone wasn’t the original rep but was making indications upon viewing my photos that there is an issue [that is just my opinion / i cannot possibly know what they were thinking].

Upon seeing that email, I replied very kindly, stating that the packets were not sent on that way to PSA originally and all the packets are the same as when they were put into the in-correct slabs. I’ve also stated that I cannot, due to timezones, call PSA until Monday [my Tuesday] but I have requested if the CS rep could put me in contact with a supervisor / head-grader…

I’m so unbelievably upset right now and it looks like they are going to do nothing to help me out…

sorry to hear you are being pushed around like that. not sure what to do, maybe try get a calling card, and call late at night one time. but even so, on the phone you get stuck with customer service, and the same textbook answers.

Wow, speechless, it sounds like they are willing to tarnish their reputation by leaving the clearly damaged packs as GEM MINT 10’S, instead of paying you compensation for their mistakes…

insane!

This makes me feel ill. I have three cards still being looked over that were damaged in the casing process. God I hope they don’t pull this shit with me. =(

that’s terrible man. I can’t believe they won’t own up to their mistake. Any veterans want to chime in on this?

Very happy to say I received all of my graded packs back today. PSA fixed the issue, they all look perfect. I thought there might have been damage from them being shoved into the cases from the first submission but to my surprise there was no damage.

@xgav1337x Any updates on your packs?

0 fucks given.

We get it M’, you don’t like PSA, but have no actual experience at all with any grading company. A friendly suggestion, please stop trolling psa threads where people who actually use their service are trying to have a discussion and figure out a situation.

There is nothing to further investigate but, allow me to translate what I mean.

Gavin, I am truly sorry that PSA is completely neglecting the fact that they messed up your valuables. I am also sorry that they are assuming that you do not know what you’re talking about when it comes to the condition of your own items. They seem careless and naive to the fact that they in fact did not work with your items at a professional level. I just wish proper booster pack procedures were practiced before letting starters handle Base Set(Most Valuable Set) booster packs. It is almost as if they did not care because it was a non sports item. I myself do not hire other people to give me opinions but you being a supporter of such practices I can understand what you are going through. I hope PSA reimburses you for the foul act they’ve committed. Keep your head up as I would’ve literally thrown shit at them.

Sincerely,

'M

@pokemonrevolution - I was given contact info of a supervisor who I got in contact with via email. After a couple of days of waiting, they got back to me. Said person has spoken with the operations manager, who wishes to discuss my case with me. After setting up a time a couple of days before hand, I rang during said time to discover the Ops Manager won’t be in till Tuesday [Wednesday my time].

On a side note, whilst collecting examples of GM PSA 10 copies / Mint 9 photos off of eBay, I came across another seller who has packets in the wrong packets. Since reaching out to them, they were happy to discover there had been a mix up with the cases [due to the fact that there is damage on their packets from the wrong cases].

I’m just hoping to sort this issue out as soon as possible :sob:

#EDIT# I’m glad you got your packets back and there was no issues with them!

Finally got in contact with the person I needed to find.

After having a lengthy discussion on the phone, the packets are going back into PSA. I won’t say the name of the person I am dealing with, but they did try to offer me some free grading. My normal PSA orders are approx 25-50 cards, so not terribly expensive in the grand scheme of how many millions of items they grade. The value of say a 50 card order would not even match what I could ‘potentially’ sell a GM10 Black Triangle Error Charizard packet for, which I mentioned that to her/him.

We discussed some ways around it, but the long and short of it is, they are going back in again to be re-re-checked by said person personally [not the head grader this time]. In concluding the phone call, her/him and I quote…

“I agree that the packets are different from when they were submitted, but they are still Gem Mint 10”.

On a side note, I work two jobs, one of them being customer service. Personally, I have never used the line, but I feel that I am going to need to shortly. “The customer is always right”. I don’t believe I am asking the world, correct? All’s I want is my packets to be correctly graded & the value difference / provide me with GM10 copies.

We also discussed how they were originally handled. @pokemonrevolution - There was a new person working when encasing them / used the wrong cases.

Time to go and packet this nightmare of a situation back up, and hope that I finally get what I paid for, third time around  .

Wish me luck!

Just got an email from the Ops Manager asking me to give him a call regarding the 6 packet order.

Due to time-zones and when I finally got the message, the office was closed. Won’t be able to ring until Wednesday my time now *le-sigh*

Really hoping it works out from here.

Not to get off topic, but why dont you like PSA? Especialy if you have no experience with them.

This situation is probably one of the most ridiculous i’ve heard of in regards to a PSA screw up, i hope it gets resolved and ends positively for you.

Got in contact with PSA earlier today and spoke with the ops manager. Had a long convo, but thought I would mention this and see what kind of reaction / thoughts you have on it.

“The packets have been put under a microscope by myself [ops manager] and the head-grader, and we have determined that out of the 6 packets, 5 of them were in gem-mint 10 condition. We have since changed one of those grades to a mint 9. That being the Error Triangle - Charizard packet”.

Ops manager then asked for a ballpark price of what I have potentially lost from the sale of any GM10 Black Triangle. Off the top of my head, I had no clue and told him that. He said thats fine and isn’t going to hold me to any number for the time being. He requested the number again, and i said $400 AUD [which is probably wrong, but at this point, I don’t care - I will do my research on it tonight once I have finished typing this up]. The Ops manager has then suggested 3 options to me for the ‘$400 compo’.

1. $400 worth of pack submissions with fast turn around times and cheaper prices

***Completely shut this option down as I will not be sending packets in in the future. This was meant to be a one time deal to get my packets encap’d to protect for many future years and eventually have them placed in a man-cave or something when I eventually get my own place.***

2. $400 worth of card submissions with fast turn around times at the $5 CC price [so approx 80 cards]

***Whilst this option does sound good, I did ask if I could have the $400 issued as a cheque and sent to me via the post. This has been done twice to me, both times for the returned shipping cost of having to send my damaged packets back to PSA. Both times, the cheque issued was just over $100 AUD [$80’ish USD]

Upon hearing this, he denied that it would happen. "The issue we have is the ‘guys upstairs’ would look at the whole issue and see that we have already paid for two lots of shipping + two lots of shipping to cover you getting the packets back to us.

I asked about the ‘financial guarantee’ - www.psacard.com/about/financialguarantee

This ‘only works if someone purchases and sends to us. As you are the only person who has owned and sent them to us, it doesn’t work’.

3. Never got to this option as Option 2 would ‘be the most suitable outcome’.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That all said, my packets are being shipped out first thing tomorrow and should be here within one week [Aus. customs etc]

Can I get thoughts / opinions on this update please folks?

Appreciate all your support and comments. Without you #ExtendedPokemonFamily , I most likely would have never brought the issue up with PSA as I didn’t know any better about the cases.

Gav.

Not an ideal outcome, as those packs surely can’t be sold as genuine PSA 10’s…

It’s painfully obvious they’re trying to cover their ass, they knew they stuffed up and claiming just one of them was graded wrong was the cheapest solution for them, their credibility has certainly taken a hit in my opinion

Oh, fun fact.

The next CC special under $10 USD for cards [post-1956 to modern] won’t be till at least June / July due to the sheer number of modern cards they currently have waiting to be graded.

Grading packs just went from bad to worse in my eyes, if they don´t care of overall appeal ( which was horrible in this case ) matching the highest grade possible why should anyone else?
