Is it just me or...? $500

They do hold wax packs perfectly but that doesn’t mean you should just shove a collectors item into a poorly designed case for that particular series (foil packs).

PSA doesn’t grade certain brands of cards because they can’t find info on them, but will potentially damage items because they have an ill fitting design. Seems devoid of logic to me. Consequently I’m putting the brakes on any pack grading until some company can design an appropriate casing. I know PSA is just doing the best they can with the limited resources they have though =\

Given the design of foil packs, I can imagine the engineering an ideal solution would be exceptionally difficult!

Oh I wasn’t defending the problem, just explaining why the cases are designed that way.

I’d estimate Pokémon packs are maybe 1-2% of their total packs graded, so they probably have no idea it is an issue.

Now is the chance to design the ‘perfect’ case and then make fat stacks from its sale / licensing agreement to PSA :stuck_out_tongue:

UPDATE

I have heard back from the customer service rep. They have taken delivery of my packets. From the email he just sent me, I can confirm that the wrong cases were used.

According to the rep. The cases have been fixed and there “should be no damage and no grade change”. I am really hoping this is the case. Would be a huge shame to see them in the correct cases / damaged… time will tell.

Payment to get the items back to PSA is also underway / will be covered by them.

@pokemonrevolution - unsure if this tag will work as I am on my phone at the moment. Thought you should know :grimacing:

Thank you for the update. Thats a relief. I sent back around 22 graded packs hoping I get a message about mine as well.

Just took delivery of my packets back from PSA in their corrected cases, and I have to say, I feel extremely upset, angry, and royally screwed over… I really don’t know what to do here…** #EDIT# Forgot to mention, I am still awaiting the $100+ in shipping fees that was meant to be credited to my bank account… :unamused:
Exactly the same as the original picture with creases from the top right all through the packet to the bottom left

Blastoise STILL has the dent across the entire Pokemon logo and the corners are damaged from where they were shoved in previously.
This would be the ONLY packet I could possible sell except for the top right corner of it, which has creases in it.

Same as my other Charizard. Creases from top right to bottom left of packet. Can be seen clearly when looking at the ‘11 game cards’ at bottom of packet.
Crushed / damaged corners, especially in the top left. 11 Additional game cards has been half cut off where it has been folded.
Crushed / damaged corners, especially in the top left.

@pokemonrevolution

wow is that absolutely ridiculous. they damage it, and their comp is to just keep it a 10. what a joke.

You could’ve done a better job.

bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh

Just added the video above ^

Awful…not looking forward to getting mine “fixed”.

@garyis2000 - by any chance have you had any issues where PSA have damaged any of your orders?

If yes, how was it handled / is there anything specific I need to do [apart from re-contact my customer rep.]

I think you’ve been quite lucky in the sense that these have already come back so quickly! Not so lucky with how it all turned out though =/

To give perspective, my cards that were damaged during the encapsulation process are still at PSA, even though they were sent before yours. Tomorrow morning our time (AU) will mark the 10 business days the told me to expect.

In terms of what you are after, you just need to contact PSA and let them know how unhappy you are mate.

Some of the “creases” as you call them I don’t really see as being damage, it is more just the foil pack being bunched up from poor placement in the case I guess. This likely could be flattened out if properly put into the case. The corner damages though, those are legit damage and there is no way they can call these PSA 10. I would start grabbing photos of completed listings on eBay to establish the value, and insist that PSA re-grade these properly and reimburse you under their grade guarantee.

Make sure you don’t go back too aggressively on them. A calm cool head in your conversations and I don’t see how any reasonable person can try and deny you re-grading these and giving you what you lost in value/grading fees. Be sure to get realistic prices though too. FYI there are buy it now listings for far below the prices your quoted in your video and previous sales at even less than the BIN’s. For both raw and graded prices you quoted.

Damn that’s nice of them - I’m still waiting on a reply for a complaint I sent in in November. Their customer service is generally terrible in my experience.

I’ve never had an item damaged but cs treats each situation separately.
