Can you message me who you spoke to from PSA? The front is smoother but look at how off center they are. Half of the word Pokemon is cut off with quarter of an inch of silver on the bottom.
Man and I have a 70+ pack order at PSA right now… My first order of 15 or so came out great. Hopefully mine hasn’t been done yet and this rough stretch gets ironed out and resolved for you guys.
I will be contacting them about it tomorrow. Hopefully with enough of us complaining they will fix the issue and prevent further submissions from having the same problem.
If it’s their first day on the job, training should be provided before letting them work solo on customer orders.
I cannot imagine I would be allowed to rock up at any customer service job (face to face with customers) and start serving on registers, handling food or taking deliveries without the training…
None the less, it was still a poor way to pack the booster packs. That and add on the face the price one pays to have each packet encased and then shipped back to the customer.
Not sure how much I can say so please don’t include my comment in any correspondence with PSA.
Typically a private contractor does the pack grading and encapsulation.
Due to this, turnaround times are generally much longer.
The cases were designed to accommodate wax packs which fit fairly well. Foil packs do not.
I hate to admit it but I was the one who convinced them to fold over the foil so as to accommodate these style packs at least until a proper sized case was designed and manufactured. I thought at the time this would be a great marketing idea and it did work out well for me;)
Now I can’t speak for gav’s specific case but there’s something wrong there. I’ve never seen any done that poorly though none really look good. A guess? Maybe the packs got graded but not encapsulated the same day a non pack encapsulator was assigned the duty. Just a guess. Could be other reasons.
They must be using a newer kind of casing for booster packs. If you look at the attached pictures, the previous cases have 4 wedges holding the pack in place without distorting the corner. However, your cases completely surround the pack and it appears as if they were literally shoved into the case, hence the wrinkles. These newer cases that you have also appear to be quite larger than the previous ones.
Did PSA mention what they would be able to do for you to fix this issue? And did they happen to mention anything about why they were put in these newer style cases?
If the old ones are just no longer in production, I don’t think I’m going to be sending my packs in
Once the Customer Rep. I spoke to on the phone took delivery of them, s/he is going to show management in regards to what has happened. Once that has taken place, a re-grade will be done to make sure the grades are still valid. If the grades go down, they will pay ‘fair market value’ as damages have been done.
In regards to the specific cases, I have no clue.
I know my slabs have arrived at the P.O box, just waiting for them to be put into the system. Once in, its expected between 7-10 business days.
Not that simple. There’s a relatively tiny command for foil pack grading. 20 large pallets minimum with machining and tanker delivery costs from China would make the cost prohibitive and would probably sit in inventory till 2050 lol.
The pack grading service was designed for sport wax packs. Majority of sports card packs worth grading are wax packs. These packs fit perfectly into the case design. This is why foil packs are folded. The PSA case was simply designed for the wax packs, which are the vast majority of packs graded with psa.
