How does it get a 3
it wouldn’t be damage from the shipping as all the other cards are in 9-10gem mint range
so is there a possibility PSA fucked my card up?
anyone have experience with this?
and what did you guys do?
Yeah so it makes me even worried that what if it’s not a type and they just handled my card very poorly.
Never encountered damaged cards with PSA so I wouldn’t know how I escalate this
When you get it back post here what type damage occurred or if someone hit the wrong key. They’re handled differently as the different types of possible damage are.
I once had what I thought was a GEM mint 15th anniversary Pika come back with a 7. Before grading cards I always check the entire card beforehand and write down what I think the grade will be. I have gotten 9s that I thought would be 10s before as most people have. However this was 100% different as the card had an indentation on the back that I know was not there when I sent the card in.
When I called PSA they didn’t even offer an apology, let alone something of monetary value to make up for their screw up. I still get mad thinking about that.
I’ve also gotten a card back damaged with the infamous horizontal intent on the back.
I *speculate* that it’s from their centering checking process. @hammy
From what I’ve learned in this hobby only minority of people actually use gloves. Rather overkill, just wash your hands well and take your time handling the cards.
Either it’s a typo, or they damaged your card. If they damaged it, you’re going to have a very tough time getting them to even admit they’re at fault. Maybe you can get them to waive the grading fee or something along those lines, but they’re not exactly very cooperative in these cases.
Thinking your card is a GEM and getting a PSA 7 is not unheard of. Now thinking your card is a GEM and getting a PSA 3 is very unheard of. Cards graded PSA 3 usually have ungodly amount of wear.
Just had to put this out there, unless you and your hands are very dirty then there is absolutely no need to wear gloves if you know how to handle a card properly.
